I don't have a problem with pricks abusing sick days and getting fired. I was raised, unless you're dead, you show up for work. Period.

Probably Hammond if I had to guess, near the intersection of 55 and 12.
Strategically, Hammond is the most appropriate location.

they will have these in every state, there are 2, with another one being built in st.louis metro.
they want tto be able to get shite out, after being ordered in 1 day, with some stuff being same day.
that is their ultimate plan, same day delivery.

Wal Mart went in that area.
Doesn't JBE's brother own some property in the proposed business district up there? This would make the most sense from a family relationship standpoint.

I imagine that they will have at least two in almost every state at some point.
Wouldn't be surprised if they build one in SE LA close to NOLA and one in more N LA/CENLA.

Does louisiana pay sales tax on amazon purchases currently? We had to start when Amazon set up in Ga since they were now "local".

probably 2-4 big ones, with 2-4 smaller ones in each state.
Like i said, their ultimate goal is same day delivery.

martin-brower is building a new distribution center or it has been built - in the Hammond area.

Laffy near 49/10 junction would be best logistically

They will put it in a central location with little to no inventory / ad volorem tax. So I would bet on Youngsville or Broussard.

I'm not sure what to believe, but logic tells me that if a company has 100k warehouse workers, at least a few thousand of them are going to complain about mistreatment. And disgruntled employees make the news.
There might be a thousand stories from a thousand employees about how shitty it is to work in an Amazon warehouse. And the other 99k workers are going: "It pays the bills."

Would make a lot more sense for Amazon to build this close to the Biloxi-Gulfport airport instead for SE. Louisiana and utilize the existing Texas distributions centers for SW La, Dallas for NW & NE Louisiana. I can't imagine that Amazon would want to be subjected to the inventory tax by building in Louisiana which is why utilizing distribution centers in other states with close proximity to Louisiana makes the most amount of sense. 300 acres must be within 5 mins from an Airport?

It means you will now have to pay sales tax on Amazon purchase
you already do

They are already charging tax now, might as well get some brick and mortar or down.
Posted on 9/21/17 at 12:36 pm to LSUFanHouston
They will probably end up in Alabama like most companies tend to do
Posted on 9/21/17 at 1:36 pm to LSUFanHouston
Apparently it's been in the works for a while, it's the reason we get charged state sales tax on there now.

St Rose is the most likely choice. Right next to an airport, next to interstate, lots of empty warehouse space.
I'd be shocked if anywhere else. They are always near a large airport.
So it would be North Baton Rouge or St. Rose.
