Heard on WWL Radio this morning, no link available.

Not the 50,000 employee headquarters... just a good ole fashioned Amazon Distribution center. We don't have any in LA currently.

They said Amazon is currently in site selection process. Will bring several hundred good jobs whereever it ends up.

I wonder where it will go?

I wonder if those nearby will be able to get Amazon same day service.

They are ruthless with their management. "Sick? youre fired" "Kid needs to go to the doc? show up or you're fired"

Never worked for them but they're a major employer in my area. Know lots of people that have.

Same here in Dallas. I actually noticed a new warehouse 3 blocks away from my apartment with multiple Amazon Prime 18 wheelers in the loading docks. I'm hoping that it is a new distribution center. That would be awesome.

Probably Hammond if I had to guess, near the intersection of 55 and 12.

Wal Mart went in that area.

you mean working in a warehouse isn't like the picturesque scene of playing hackysack with fellow employees, picnic in the on-campus park with fellow employees, or sitting around a large table exploring deep thoughts about technology?

They should put it in BTR. The airport could certainly handle the traffic.

I guess. I responded to "good job" with "shite job". If you disagree that it's a shite job I'm not going to argue with you. I'm an a-hole but I won't shite on your chosen career.

This has been proven internationally for almost a decade.

Their warehouse employees are paid and treated like shite.
