You and your friends will have an experience you will never forget. After being in Alaska you are really going to love seeing all these beautiful women down here. I still remember drunk Washington fans saying over and over how much they love our women! Just take the "Tiger Baits" in good fun and you'll be given all the food and drink you need.

sometimes the only way to know if someone is a TD poster is if they are making jokes/comments you only see on here. There's no official TD tailgate these days, or maybe I'm just officially removed from the invite list.

Yeah OP cusetroop, just walk around with your girl and you wear a shirt that says, "wowyhi?" Or "should I PIIHB?" and the tailgating TD posters will reveal themselves to you.

If you do change hotels to the hilton or even indigo hotel, here's the number to the shuttle guy that the hilton gave me. You can reserve seats on the shuttle in advance or wait till day of: Joel Burnett 225-806-1789. I called him yesterday and he said $20 round trip per person.

Also, as I stumble around different tailgates meeting new best friends, is there a way to tell if it's a "tiger droppings" tailgate?

If you hear someone say "you're a stupid MF're and need to eat sh*t" and the other replies "Germans," you know you're there

It's all been covered. I'd just add to get there early and see the party build.

There's also a few new (newly constructed or newly remodeled) hotels downtown. Holiday Inn Express on North Blvd would be close to the Live at 5 action. There's also a Hampton Inn on Lafayette St and Watermark Hotel on 3rd St. All within easy walking distance of Live at 5 and restaurants/bars downtown. All would be better than the casino hotel.

Come hang out with our crew at the top of the hill on North Stadium drive where the LSU players exit the bus.

Booze, food and family friendly tunes.

I figured since the flights were kinda pricey, and my alcohol bill wont be cheap (I have an enlarged liver, only way to treat it is to drown it in booze.

There is no place to buy package liquor on campus but you can carry open container anywhere. If your group needs package supplies look for The Chimes on Highland and at the street corner there is a Mini Mart of some kind that will have everything you could need. It is the closest place to walk and buy booze. They dont sell spare livers so bring and extra one - you will need it.

If anyone needs tickets go to Mike the Tiger's cage by Tiger Stadium and there are several "resellers" there.

Speaking of good smoked burgers and bulk meat in general.... Good ole Lil Willies on the spillway. Great sausage, pulled pork and ribs. Watched the triple crown winner there a couple years back.

Need to hit that place up next time at the Reservoir.

Even if there is a rare cold snap for the game (70 degrees), the only chance you have of encountering an LSU fan with numerous layers of clothing is if you come across an elderly lady being overly cautious (they always bitch about being cold and not knowing what time it is) or a bunch of drunk girls who have dared each other to take off an article of clothing every time a misguided fan tries to start "the wave." Seriously, you're much more likely to see co-eds wearing Daisy Duke shorts and bikini tops than that layered look you reference. And we don't count unshaven legs as a layer. No self-respecting southern girl goes out in public without being freshly shaven (and all that that implies). Having that talk with your girl is certainly an option. I'd go with the sunglasses however, unless you are sure of how she'll react to the talk. If you do piss her off however, you shouldn't have to look too far for comfort, even if you have to play the sympathy card. Instead of closing with "Have fun and make good decisions," I'll just say, have fun and use protection.

Heyyy, Holy cow I need to figure out how to use the search feature here. I had to go back about 38 pages to find this thread lol.

I know I owe you guys a recap, I'm still swamped trying to get caught back up at work. I did want to pop in though to thank everyone who chimed in here with suggestions, and pretty much every resident of Baton Rouge.

I've never met a group of nicer people. From the moment we arrived in BR, to the Dallas airport where I was approached by the last LSU fan, just nothing but great people.

"welcome to baton rouge, can we help you find anything?"
"do you have a tailgate for tomorrow? Come to ours!"
ect ect ect.

You guys really made the trip memorable, and I think I'll be disappointed at other venues from now on lol.

I'm just going to touch on a few things before I finish up at the office for the day.

Met a dude who (I don't want to give away his secrets) got us and another cuse fan into the stadium a few hours before kick. It was amazing being in there while it was empty.

Met someone from here at Live After Five. Pretty cool little event there! We headed to Tsunami afterwards, place was amazing.

Man, I should have had a map of campus, trying to find other cuse tailgates was near impossible because 1. I had no clue where I was going, and 2. When you get invited to every LSU tailgate you walk by, it takes a while to walk to the other side of campus.

Spent alot of our time with LSU fans up by the indian mounds. The folks up there were more than amazing.

I'll pop back later to add more, but thanks again everyone. You've made me a closet LSU fan for life. Hopefully we get another chance to head down there in my lifetime. I wont miss it.

If ya bumped into a drunk dude claiming to be from Alaska, that was me. Hope you enjoyed me! Go Orange!
