* LSU utilizes the NFL's bag policy so don't bring any expensive purses. (Google GeauxClear for more info.)
* Must See: We've got a live tiger. You're going to want to see him.
* Anytime you see 'eaux', it's pronounced 'o'. (Your mascot would be the Eauxrangemen.

it seems like a straight shot from the Casino hotel, to the stadium. Walkable?
Do you want to get stabbed? Because that's how you get stabbed.

The casino you are staying at is called the Belle and of the 2 casino/hotels in BR, it is by far and away the "trashy" one. I've heard the rooms aren't very nice, either.
The Belle is north of campus. If you want to stay at the nice casino/hotel, look up L'Auberge online. It's south of campus and is remote, but it's extremely nice.
Try L'Auberge or the Marriott off Corporate/College.

If you're set on staying downtown, also a Hampton Inn

I agree with the others in that you are much too far from campus to walk...and it is not anyplace that I would be scared to drive through, but I wouldn't want to walk that stretch at midnight or 1 AM.
Last time I stayed at that casino hotel, I found it to be a little noisy due to the casino patrons moving around at night. If the casino is the draw, then ok...but if you are just looking for a place to sleep, I would probably opt for something else. there are still rooms available around town for that game. The Hilton down town is very nice/historic and I believe it has a shuttle to the game. There is also an even newer Hampton inn in the same area.

The casisno downtown is fine but don;t walk to campus. In fact don't walk anywhere north of the campus. It's better to stay at the L'Auberge Casino off Gardere south of the campus, but its too far to walk.
If you age group is under 25 then the parade grounds is where to tailgate, if older then anywhere but there. Walk around the stadium and there is tailgating everywhere.
It's like nothing you will ever see again in your life.
Last year I met a guy from Washington who travels each year to a different college game. He and 25 friend travel around the country each year. He said LSU is the greatest place he has ever been and there is nothing like it anywhere they have traveled. And he said this 2 hours before the game even started.

Definitely ride the streetcar in NO. You'll need exact change or a pass . Talk to concierge or desk clerk on details, but it's a great way to see some incredible architecture and goegeous Live Oaks.
Definitely get into the stadium in time for pre-game. There's nothing like hearing Tiger Rag blasted. Best show in CFB.

I like George's, it's a local watering hole and you'll have some football on.
George's is the absolute shite!
Their poboys are a New Orleans style, that I haven't found anywhere else in Baton Rouge.
They normally do a Shrimp creole over rice on Fridays; tell them to fry six oysters hard and put them on top if they have any leftover.
You will be missing that dish months later.
Also, City Pork deli is right next door and they have really good sandwiches, as well and a charcuterie bar and a bacon Bloody Mary that is like Lay's potato chips.
That whole area has some serious food going on; and I love what they did with that area over the last few years.
I don't know who said it's walking distance; but you cannot walk there from campus or the casino. Well, you can; but it's a hike around the lakes or downtown, and the 60 year olds in your party will be cursing you.
Ask the bartender at George's if they got any of that Shrimp Creole left! if they do, fry them oysters cause they in season.

I should clarify that my answer on maybe walking is ONLY to the game when the sun is out. Do NOT ever try to walk that area back home at night after a game.
Also, in the French Quarter, if you don't want to get shot, then stay between Bourbon Street, the River, St. Anne's and Canal during the day, except to walk down to catch the Street Car. At night, I wouldn't suggest walking off of Bourbon Street, but I don't know what you look like. I've personally never had any issues, but I'm not stupid and I don't look like a tourist. Stay in larger groups and you should be fine, as long as you stay in the areas I mentioned...it's a dangerous city man.

Just get uber to drop you off on Nicholson by the stadium, on the south side of the stadium there are some nice tailgating set ups, definitely worth going pay Mike a visit if he isnt asleep, their will be people everywhere you walk. As far as finding a place for that many fans it is going to be tough but as long as you can take a little trash talk i am sure you will be brought in for a few drinks and some food. If you want to tailgate yourself with that many people your best bet is the hayfield lot but this is a small hike to the stadium and away from most of the nicer tailgating setups

Its funny how racist this place is. You guys tell visitors to not walk from hotel because of extreme ghetto as if they will be raped robbed and killed before getting to the game. Im from that are and yes crime does happen but cmon man.. these are just very low income people living in trash. But i guess if your Black or Hispanic you're a criminal.
P.s. walkimg from the hotel to TS is not logical
