As measured by WAR. Yikes. How the mighty have fallen (or stopped juicing).

no player has been less valuable than Pujols this year: His -1.99 WAR ranks dead last among all players (including pitchers).

There was a time, maybe around 2009 or so, where he was considered the best player on the planet. His decline has been uncanny to say the least. I thought at one point he would literally go down as the best player of all-time, and so did many others. Seems like he lost his luster when he left STL too.

I wonder if he was on the shite in St Louis. His contract with the Angels goes through 2021. Fml.

He already is one of the best players of all time.

St. Louis made the greatest decision on not resigning him. Unfortunate for this cubs fan.

What a terrible contract.

Their decision was the angels going insane

I would say defense kills him but this year a -1.8 offensive WAR and -1.2 Defensive WAR according to baseball reference

Wait serious? You are wondering if a player in his prime who put up great numbers and better numbers than his 37 year old self was on the shite....

Dude was great until 2013 when he started having injury issues he was 33 at the time of that happening. I think this is more of a natural progression of a player breaking down.

No, they got lucky that the Angels came in at last moment and made that asinine offer. They had a 200+mil contract on the table, and had Angels not come in, he was going to be resigned.
