yeah it's not much to talk about. at least it used to not be. been a very long time since i visited. my grandparents and aunt's family used to live in Port Lavaca. home of the mighty sand-crabs. visited there every summer til i was 17. weird seeing this all on TV. beaches and bay look exactly the same.

Lol, how can this many people think CC is a podunk town? I mean, I was in that number until this thread.

I had no idea either. 400k is double the population of Birmingham,AL. But I would not know, I'll never go to that shithole known as Texas unless Auburn is playing for the NC there.

McAllen is going to take a hit once Trump completely eviserates the NAFTA
The low price of the peso has really sparked wealth in the area as well.
Didn't Young S used to ball down there?
How many people opened up google maps after clicking on this thread and check out the area?

gotcha. i stay around that area a lot, but i don't do hooters. there's a nice older christian lady that checks my work credit card bill, so strip clubs and breastarants are a no go.
next time you're down there, try republic of the rio grande or il divino

I use to frequent Santa Fe Steakhouse (and not the chain) ... enjoyed many great steaks there ... and stayed at the Embassy Suites, which I believe has been renovated and re-branded as the Doubletree.

CC getting a lot of hate in here. No surprise since all OTers live in the maldives and use BR/NOLA as a proxy address.

Am I the only person who was completely out of the loop on this place?
I thought it was a tiny coastal town where old people retire.

I was genuinely ignorant and surprised. I'm not "hating" anything. I thought the picture I posted looked nice and I have no other basis of opinion on the place.
