4th mishap under his command in a year

quote:

The U.S. Navy will relieve the commander of its 7th Fleet, Vice Admiral Joseph Aucoin from duty after the fleet suffered its second deadly mishap in less than three months, a U.S. defense official confirmed to Fox News

quote:

U.S. Pacific Fleet Commander Adm. Scott Swift told a news conference Tuesday that each of the incidents was "unique," but added that "they cannot be viewed in isolation."

Of course everyone wants to have a funny take on these incidents, but losing billions of dollars in ships and priceless lives of servicemen in the way they have is ridiculous.

Watch out for the other huge ships.

I have a feeling that the truth is being withheld. My guess is that some country (probably China) has found a way to hack our systems and cause these problems. It's the only reason that makes sense to me.

hate to see anyone lose their job for something that he really was not even around. however, someone has to take the fall and the guy who makes the big bucks is where the shite lands.

these incidents were so public and projected such a bad image, that this was inevitable.

it is just unfortunate that our commanders in chief are not held to the same standards.

That seems to be the common theme that everyone is leaning towards. However, when all systems fail you still have no less than 10 watchstanders with perfectly good eyeballs to look out the windows and see where the frick they're going. Its how we did it in WWII and the days before GPS and surface radar.

This is a theory that is starting to catch on, not sure North Korea is not involved, next we might see airplanes running into each other

We have an entire generation of young people that can't write in cursive, because they weren't taught because they "didn't need it". Maybe the Navy isn't teaching them how to operate when systems become compromised?

Hopefully we get the answer soon, and the taxpayers should be made aware of the problem and the proposed solution.

I read something a couple of years ago about a science team at some university hacking a ships navigation and making slight changes in its guidance. Over the course of a few days, the hackers had the ship a few hundred miles off course and the crew had no idea. Don't remember where I read it. If they can do that to a cargo ship I would imagine the same principles apply to navy ships and airplanes too.

The Navy is the worst run branch of the military. Personal misconduct by senior officers, ships grounding, and then collisions.

Your entire premise lays upon the actions of 1 ship.
