Fair. Just think about the naval accidents we don't hear about.

I drink with an old USMC Vietnam guy...dude is a 74 yr old a-hole..so I don't doubt him.

He was a hellcat in the USMC...his command gave him a group of retards for his platoon in Vietnam. It happens.

The kids guarding the intel room are ridiculous. They think it's Area 51. That branch has some serious issues.

I bet Mattis starts putting Marines on all navy ships to be their lookouts.

If only we had that many Marines to spare.

I do marine stuff for a living, both military and commercial. I've always wanted to join the Navy because I know that I could be an extremely valuable asset as a project manager type guy working with contractors developing new products to keep us ahead of the rest of the world.

And then I sit in a meeting with the Navy and realize there's no way I could deal with those people daily. They could stand to learn a whole lot from some time in the civilian world before getting such high positions with such fat check books. The amount of money they strive to waste is amazing.

ETA: not to mention the very high odds of getting stuck managing a crew of barely functional alcoholics scrubbing the decks of some ancient piece of shite oiler in the Red Sea for 9 months at a time.

Last night Trump said there will be no numbers or dates foreshadowing. Are you a wizard?

That isn't just limited to the Navy but to the military and every federal department as a whole. I've seen it with my own eyes and it's sickening.

This is stupid. Nobody fires the CEO of McDonalds because a few employees frick up the ice cream machine.

Your argument is stupid, a frick up at McDonalds doesn't cost millions of taxpayer dollars and lives of US service members.

ETA: Using your logic, firing the 7th fleet commander isn't firing the CEO but rather the district manager because 4 of his stores failed.

With the dollar figure tied to these incidents, heads have to roll, whether they are actually responsible or not.

I must say, I'm not confident in our Navy's ability to beat China in a naval conflict right now.

Yeah, that's a pretty disturbing thought. Wouldn't be surprised is they start pushing further out in the South China Sea
