I hate to start this topic right now but we will be facing this situation soon. Aranda will be getting offers sll over the country after this year. We simply cannot let this guy leave. He is saban part two. Anyone with any football knowledge can see this. What do we do to keep him. I would offer Ed DC position and recruiting guru. Like saban Dave would keep running the defense. Ed is s premier Dline coach. Just my take

it would be LSU-like to have this guy get hired on at a powerhouse school and then he'll end up being tormenting LSU for years to come.

Because demoting your head coach, even if he has a successful year, to promote someone to head coach who has absolutely no experience or track record and may or may not be a good HC always works out great. If Orgeron is fired then sure, let's throw Aranda's name in the hat but otherwise that would be fricking retarded and would make our program look like the biggest joke in the history of college football if it didn't work out

Well. He does have the title of Associate Head Coach. Makes me think something was pre planned anyway if he wants it.

I would rather him as HC if that's what it took to keep him but last year it was reported by Shea on 247 he doesn't seem interested in HC but does have NFL aspirations..

Side not, Canada absolutely has HC goals which is why he came here to get more spotlight. He had stated he wants that. Defense is more important any ways though so I agree keep Aranda at all cost.

when has this ever happened with a coordinator? It's only happened once period with Saban and even he didn't go from LSU to another college.

Part of being a top 10 program is your assistants are always going to be hot commodities.
