I'm not even trying to do the "put in the backup" or "let the freshman play" schtick, but I wonder about the qb situation after today. Was this just an aberration of a practice by Etling? Is the presence of Brennan tightening the proverbial noose? Were the picks just a result of great strategy by Aranda or great individual play by a DB? Was the 8 for 18 a legit <50% performance or did he not receive much help? Not very promising.

I still feel like even if Myles Brennan is showing up Etling, we still shouldn't start a freshman qb. Unless Etling starts looking like Brandon Harris last year, I say just give Brennan significant playing time and leave him at 2nd string. Etling I feel like brings more experience and team management to the table than Brennan does.
