I can't think of a school in recent history that has won a national championship with a true freshman QB...

Less than 50% passing with two ints and no tds is still bad for a starting senior, even against this D. Have to play better than that to compete.

True freshman QB? Name them please...

For once, it's nice to hear that "offense dominated the day."
I know Arranda will have the defense ready, but it's been so damn long since our offense wasn't a liability...

Well Bama came close
Let's at least compete with our best even if it's a freshman qb

Etling 8 for 18, 2INTs

Freshman Myles Brennan and senior Danny Etling took most of the snaps at quarterback and Orgeron said Brennan mostly took second-team reps but got some snaps with the first team.
Etlings numbers may only show the gap between the 1st and 2nd string defense.

I still feel like even if Myles Brennan is showing up Etling, we still shouldn't start a freshman qb. Unless Etling starts looking like Brandon Harris last year, I say just give Brennan significant playing time and leave him at 2nd string. Etling I feel like brings more experience and team management to the table than Brennan does.
I certainly wouldn't start him game 1, but I would give him a good bit of PT in the first game if he is performing better than Etling in practice. Do this for 2 or 3 games, if during this time, he is better on the field than Etling, make him the starter.

Exactly
Work him into it if needed and he's that much better

I'm just gonna say it, there are a lot of schools that win national championships with freshman qbs
If by "a lot" you mean one, then you would be correct. OU's Holieway is the only true frosh to do it 30 years ago.
But if Brennan is the better player, true frosh or not, play him.
I'd love to see a breakdown of Brennan's numbers versus 1s and 2s. Stats can be deceiving.

Hasn't it been since the 80's since this happened? I seem to remember them saying that over and over last year when Bama was in the ship with Hurts.

We better get Brennan ready ASAP. I hate to throw him to the wolves, but...

I can see this happening and I take back my statement about garbage time. Looks like he will indeed get some competitive snaps. I'm going to say this though, there aren't many teams that will roll out a defense like LSU. Wow look at those stats from the defense on a day where the offense had the advantage! Good luck BYU

Kinda surprised to not see narcisse with snaps. Some feelings are going to flying around with Myles coming in hot like that. Not that he doesn't deserve it.

Sorry lil drunk, not a lot. But Tebow was a big part of Florida's 2006 championship, jt barret for OSU for a few games, didn't realize Winston was a red shirt frosh when he won. But Alabama went but didn't win the championship last year with a fresh

You work him in slowly?
Get him in BYU if possible
Definitely in Chattanooga then miss st Syracuse Troy
Someone should definitely take the lead

Glass half full, maybe they had Etling working on making the hard throws. Maybe the D knew what was coming. In some ways a scrimmage can be easier than a live game, but in some ways it can be harder.

Anybody surprised Brennan has already passed up Narcisse?

Exactly. We have no context. All his incompletions could have been from 3rd and 15. We don't know what they were working on. It could have been a lot better--or even a lot worse--than 8-18 looks on its face.
