He wasn't defenseless. Legal hit. Not ideal but not illegal. Hell we tried to hit guys like that back in the day.

He was out before he hit the ground. That's a potential career- ender, any time you hit a guy at full speed with a shot to the head. Terrible .

Its definitely not how you're supposed to tackle anymore because people are dying from brain injuries from concussions that occur like this one caused by hits like that.
