Never shot a gun before.
quote:

DETROIT - A robbery attempt in Detroit backfired when a teenager picked the wrong man to mess with and quickly learned he wasn't the only person armed. Darius Summers is a mild-mannered musician in Detroit who just turned 61 years old this week. He also recently received his license to carry a concealed weapon. "I'd never been through this," Summers said. "Never shot a gun before. All this is new to me."

BOOM! Love to see this.

MI must have far different CCL standards than LA. Getting a CCL without ever firing a gun. Interesting.

He said, "I didn't shoot to kill"

Wonder if that'll come back to bite him.

Man, if I have to pull a gun on someone who has a gun on me, you can bet your arse I'm in shoot to kill mode. I'd have yanked the trigger 5-6 times in rapid succession. That kid is lucky that old man had a wayyy more docile attitude than most people with regard to having a gun pulled on them.

I'm pro 2nd Amendment, but this is just insane. Why would you ever carry a firearm without first seeing how it fires? Is it prone to jamming? Is the safety tricky? How is the trigger pull? Old Man River got very lucky.

How do you get a concealed carry without ever shooting?

I hate that he says, "I didn't shoot to kill." Sure he did. He shot a perp with a firearm center mass. He's a self proclaimed novice with a firearm. How would he know where to shoot "not to kill, but save a life?"

Other than that, I'm glad that he didn't become a victim.

Shouldn't that be required for CC?
