JL was getting some kind of shite talked to him

JL single handily took the wind out of the sails of a fanbase during the best season in franchise history. He deserves it.

I know I'll get downvotes, but I have never been more ashamed to be an astros fan as I am today. I am of course disappointed we didn't make a major trade. However, people are so emotional it's embarrassing and JL was getting some kind of shite talked to him and so are the players on the dl.

Must be worse on twitter. Luhnow has done a great job building this team, but I'm pissed at him today.

Fans are going to react emotionally, it means they care about their Astros. I'd rather that than an apathetic city that doesn't give two shits about their team like the Marlins.

That's so fricking embarrassing

You can disagree with how things went down today but don't call out our players like they had anything to do with it. Do people really wish Lance would pitch hurt when we have a 16 game lead?

MLB Network panel ripping us for doing nothing:

Yankees got better
Cubs got better
Dodgers got better
17 game lead, chance to win a World Series and you don't add anything
Liriano has a bullpen ERA over 5.00 in 45 career innings.
Good for you guys on the 16.5 game lead
That's great. But Championships aren't won on July 31st

Carlos Pena notes that Brent Strom is one of the best and could turn Liriano into an under the radar addition.

They should be ripping us. Just listen to those names, Yankees, Cubs, and Dodgers. 3 great franchises now and historically, and they made great moves today. I don't see how the Astros could look anything BUT terrible after today. I wish someday we can be on their level, but probably not.

We all know it was Luhnow hoarding prospects because our farm system is very good and teams with less prospects were able to make moves.

Also, I'm a fan, and of course I don't know what went on in the talks, but I'm still going to be a fan and speculate.

I'm baseball exhausted already and the game hasn't even started. It'd be nice to come out today and get a convincing easy win. But Cobb has been pitching well, our offense scuffling and we Suck at home. Maybe Salt will go more than 5 innings. Small victories.

Maybe Fisher will crush it today knowing he's Luhnow's favorites.

I don't have any fricks to give about the trade deadline.

Just need to get everyone healthy and rolling in the right direction again.

ETA: any more fricks to give I should say. I cared earlier, but everyone on herein a great GM so I'm not smart enough for that.

Not directed anyone in particular

Only thing worse than Ludlow at the trade deadline is Josh Beckett on the pregame show.

Josh just said Morton is the right guy to stop a skid and feels like "he's ready to go 7 or 8 innings, heck maybe the whole game."

I must say fellas, I have read the ENTIRE 43 page thread (Jesus Christ), and even though I have enjoyed the hell out of it, I completely understand the people that are melting over this. Considering we needed to make a deal for both starting pitching and relief pitching, and literally the only deal we make is for a very garbage, aging pitcher in Francisco Liriano, I am pretty disgusted by what we did at the trade deadline, which wasn't much. We needed to trade for a Darvish, Gray, Hand, Britton, etc, but instead all we got was Liriano. Not impressed with what Lunhow did for us. Considering this is by far the best team we've ever had, and this is by far the best chance we have at winning a World Series title, he should have been aggressive, and yet he was the exact opposite. Not impressed Lunhow. My grade for him at the deadline is a solid F. Throw in the fact that McCullers is back on the DL. As big of an optimist as I always am with the Houston Astros, I have a feeling that they will BADLY struggle the next several games. At least we have a huge lead. BRING ON THE JIM BEAM!!!!

@Evan_P_Grant
Profar out of lineup tonight for Round Rock after he expressed frustration over not being dealt.
