I did about a month worth of research on the truck I wanted before I bought it. Researched wholesale price, MSRP, manufacturer incentives (special financing, bonus cash, etc.) researched the trim and features of the exact truck I was going to buy and how much it was going to cost me while giving them a 1% profit.
They started to play the bullshite game but by doing my homework I was able to twist their arms down to a 1% profit and financed it with a loan through my credit union. I ended up paying $7500 less than the bullshite advertised "internet price."

Apparently the same salesmen just migrate from dealership to dealership.
rinse and repeat

I treat they dealers I buy from. They get sick a lot more often than I buy vehicles.

Just walk out. Give them your number and email, tell them to email you the final details and have the papers ready if they can meet your numbers then just leave.

It's dumb there's just not a set price for a vehicle.
We just bought a vehicle online instead of waiting for whatever the dealer had and arguing over a $1000-1500. Got exactly what we wanted, got financing on the side, selling my trade in by myself.
frick all that. Can't wait to get it in.

This, it amazes me when people take it in the azz by car dealers, do your research and walk if you don't get what you want.

I'm usually able to get what I want at the dealership, but I still can't wait until we can just buy cars on Amazon.
Would really need Chase to bump my Amazon credit card up from $1000 to ~$35000. 5% back and second day delivery.

quote:If you can get them to give you a decent price on your trade, you can come out about the same as selling it yourself because of tax savings on the trade.
Don't trade in a vehicle and sell it on your own.
Unless of course if they do a courtesy trade for you.
