Social media giant Facebook blocked more than two dozen conservative Catholic pages in a 24-hour period, some with millions of followers, saying only they were “suspected of suspicious activities.”
Facebook seemed to target only conservative Catholic pages with a significant following, since almost all had between hundreds of thousands and up to six million followers, according to Catholic News Agency (CNA), which broke the story.
One of the blocked pages called “Fr. Rocky” belonged to a U.S. Catholic priest Fr. Francis J. Hoffman, executive director of Relevant Radio, whose page had 3.5 million likes.
“Catholic and Proud,” an enormously popular page with six million followers, met a similar fate. Page owner Kenneth Alimba of Nigeria told CNA his page was also blocked without explanation. He had another page titled “Holy Mary Mother of God” with some 200,000 Likes that was also removed.

Render unto Faceberg the things that are Faceberg's.

Would you rather a publicly traded company not be allowed to conduct business as they see fit?

That's exactly what that is. Facebook has the freedom to do whatever it wants.
And I have the freedom to say that Mark Zuckerberg and his creation are the catalyst for the end of society

So is it your position that ALL Catholics are child molesters?

Don't bother going down this path with someone who would make a comment like that. I promise you it won't be constructive. Unless you consider getting the thread anchored constructive.

Thats a two way street. While Facebook is free to discriminate, the owners of a bakery who attend one of these churches will be forced to make a gay wedding cake.

If you have a problem, stop using facebook.

It would be interesting to see his defense of that position wouldn't it?
However considering that he is a coward and a fool I don't expect that to happen.

Gotta love it when the left is ok with things like this but they should be. They have the best of both worlds.
Same old story. They get away with whatever they want.... but a baker is forced to comply with a different set of rules

Well that's an organization that promotes the raping of little boys masquerading as a religion so that's a good move

Just checked and both pages are currently active. Might have been done by a rogue employee and then overruled by management.

To be honest, not really. Will be predictable. Most likely a hodge-podge of ad hominem and tu quoque attacks sprinkled with some disparaging remarks about religion in general.
I'm Catholic BTW.

I don't disagree, but I hate playing the WhatAboutThis game.

Zuckerberg has done more to eviscerate individual privacy than a dictator ever could. Add in his company's collusion with the NSA and its data mining operations and I'd say Zuckerberg is one of the most evil pieces of shite on the planet.

I have mixed emotions about this.
I believe that Facebook should be able to do anything it wants to be a successful company.
However, it is basically a media outlet now and the pages of its members are the channels.
It becomes censorship to a certain degree.
Basically I believe they should be able to do it, but I'm not happy about it and it makes me a little uncomfortable. It could have major repercussions in the future.
