There are people that believe Beethoven, Alexander the Great, and even Henry VIII were black.

Maya Angelo is actually Shakespeare, I've heard that one. If true he got really old and ugly, his writing turned nonsensical shite too.

I mean in a way the US Government (Army Corps) did flood NOLA during Katrina. There is tons of research and evidence supporting that the MRGO funnelling storm surge and degraded marsh as a result of the MRGO is what overwhelmed the levees.

In the 1920s the feds dynamited the levee at Canvaron (lower St Bernard / Plaquemines area) to relieve pressure.

So that we would never have to do that again, we got the Bonnet Carre spillway.

There are some levees in the midwest that have dynamite charges in them, that can be detonated to create holes to relieve pressure, because there really isn't a spillway system up there.

Idiots take those facts above and have thus decided the feds blew up levees in Katrina.

One of the real myths about Katrina was that it only flooded poor black areas. My white butt got 9 feet of water, and oil, in St. Bernard. Not to mention the entire gulf coast of MS.

the government caused the levees to break by blowing them up

Oh yeah, I'm sure the 34 foot storm surge did not have anything to do with it.

and Im sure the "loud boom" that was heard had nothing to do with barges hitting walls and bridges and natural gas lines exploding.

People beleive what they want.

If anything, 50 years of corruption and lethargy by the levee board sank NO. I had heard about "the big one" that will flood the city for 25 years before it happened. it was only a matter of time.

FIFY.

but that was in Biloxi, MS and wasn't a storm surge(22.0').

Louisiana's storm surge during Katrina according to that link is

New Orleans Lakefront Airport:
11.8', Hurricane Katrina, 2005

Grand Isle:
12.0', Hurricane Katrina, 2005

Port Fourchon:
8.0', Hurricane Katrina, 2005
