I'm not sold on Minnesota either. But they have been trending in a positive direction and made some very positive moves for their team.

It's hard to argue with their talent.

They finished 11-14 last season with those two all-pros.

That's not to say they won't improve with a full off-season to prepare, but they just haven't shown anything yet and we got a glimpse of 25 games.

with that logic why do you have OKC in your top 5?

I think Butler is going to mean more than just his on court production to that team. Last year, when KAT was getting his shite packed in by AD at the SKC, I saw some real immaturity coming from him. Slouched on bench. Visibly pissed. Throwing some needless hard shots. Butler could be that strong willed veteran to rein those guys in. I wouldn't be shocked one bit if they were really...fricking...good.

Because OKC has been good for a long time and even though they lost Durant last year, they still finished 6th in the West. They have a proven track record of being a winning team.

Is it hard to believe they move up 2 spots after they added Paul George?

My biggest worry with OKC is it seems inevitable Westbrook breaks down eventually. He plays at such a breakneck speed. How long can his body hold up? PG13 can't carry that roster like GOATbrook.

No it's not difficult to believe that at all. But we cannot assume that PG and Russ immediately mesh or mesh at all. Russ (along with CP3) is a tough on-court personality so I'm in wait and see mode. They were saying the Pels were a playoff lock last year after we got Boogie. We obviously underperformed but they were learning each other on the fly. Plus it seems Boogie and AD have a great friendship and they both want to stay in NOLA. All I'm saying is that there is a lot more that goes into a pairing of top tier players than just whats on paper

And maybe, just maybe, Westbrook actually thrives by himself (stats wise and somewhat wins wise) carrying the team, and he might not be nearly as effective playing alongside star

I was surprised PG13 went there, I really thought no star would want to play with him after seeing the change in emotion from OKC KD to GS KD

Paul Millsap has a meeting lined up with the Minnesota Timberwolves today, league sources told Basketball Insiders.

TWolves aint fricking around.

They get Millsap with that roster? And a couple shooters?

That puts them ahead of OKC IMO. Depends on how quickly KAT and Wiggins improve their defense.

I think the Spurs are just as good as GS full strength. They would have gone 7 games against GS with a healthy Leonard

I love me some Spurs, but there is no way. I still have the Spurs pegged as a 58 win 2nd seed, but nowhere close to knocking off the Warriors without some help from warriors injuries.

Butler is on a cheap deal and Wiggins/KAT are on rookie deals, with some trades(Dieng and Aldrich) they could have up to $35 million.

What are you seeing that I'm not?

In fairness, I'm not sure why it's a guarantee that Minnesota will be better than NOP?

Considering we didn't play many games with Cousins, we are going into the season basically having added the better player, Cousins over Butler.

They also downgraded at the point guard position with Teague in place of Rubio.

I'm not saying NOP will certainly win more games, I just don't see the rush to put Minny in the top 5 as they're no guarantee to be better than NOP IMO.
