Fix is In?

I just got off the phone with a good friend of mine who is an Oregon State graduate and a former pitcher for the Beavers in the 1970s. He's an even keel kind of guy who doesn't get too upset over things. Even so, I waited a day to call him...
His reaction to the game(s) surprised me a bit. I asked him if he felt any better today, and he said no. Beaver fans are still upset over the calls in the games. In fact, he said that it's obvious that Omaha had already decided who they wanted in the finals and made sure that LSU and Florida got there, no matter what. He acknowledged that there were bad calls against LSU as well, but many more against OSU.
So, OSU has decided that the fix was in. HUH??

If we could actually do that, we'd have done it a long time ago

Everyone will agree, but this is what LSU fans sound like after losing to Bama. Paid refs, cheating, the REC...etc.
Not talking about you, specifically.

They should be more concerned about allowing a child molester throw the whole year where coach and President of University did nothing - Folks come on man they didn't know of course they did people talk , players talk - hmm reap what you sow

What was your friends reasoning for all the bombs that Lsu dumped over the outfield walls?Maybe you should send your friend some Beaudreaxs Butt Paste for his chapped arse?

I can only speak for myself, but I paid LOTS of umpires and fans to fix the series with the Beavers.

I say great, nothing would please me more than having the officials in charge cheating for LSU. Hopefully that extends into the football season!

not suprising at all...I think pretty much everyone figured they would walk into a national championship. after they spanked us in the first game, no one really thought we had a chance to beat them in the series. us putting them out is a serious embarrassment and it doesn't surprise me at all that they are still trying to make sense of it all. we have been in that situation as well...

Yes but that 2nd baseman Madrigal was All world and best player ever to step on a baseball field(announced for the 68 time during the game)...

I'm cashing the check paid to me by LSU to influence the game as a fan.

Believe it or not, I've got a box sitting on my desk as we speak. I might do just that!

They have a legitimate gripe about the foul ball, although it was not as outcome determinative as they claim. At most 2 runs score, and probably only 1 and who knows what happens after that.
I have little sympathy about the strike zone yesterday. Strike zones are one of those things that, yes, objectively there are balls and strikes. However, a zone can vary from game to game and you have to play to the zone. The ump had a very large horizontal strike zone, but not vertical. I have no sympathy for OSU when they let the bat rest on their shoulders for 9 innings without swinging at the stuff on the edges. Further, it's their pitchers' fault for not taking advantage of the zone like LSU's pitchers did.

Never played baseball, but it seems like a huge part of the game would be figuring out the ump's strike zone quickly and making sure your pitchers and hitters adjust.

So, the fix was in. That's why OSU beat LSU 13-1 in the first game. Makes sense.
