'Dunkirk' to be Christopher Nolan's shortest film since his directorial debut

It's only one hour and 47 minutes long. That running time includes credits so really this film only has about 90 minutes of actual footage

I'll be there night #1. Aside from that Dark Knight Rises travesty, Nolan has easily been the best director of the last decade.

Give it up, man. You are in a small but vocal minority who for some reason think The Dark Knight Rises is one of the worst comic book movies ever made. It was well-received by audiences and remains one of Nolan's most critically acclaimed films.

Lmao, how can you say that with a straight face? Batman Begins and Dark Knight were two of the biggest comic book masterpieces, hell probably even the best ever made. However, DKR is a complete shite fest. I love Tom Hardy's Bane, but the rest is a nightmare with more plot holes than perhaps anything I've ever seen.

You can think whatever you want, but it was well received and thought pretty highly of by most people. It's an 8.5 on IMBD and 87% on RT. Is that masterpiece status, no; but it's a "complete shite fest" either.

There are actually people who didn't like one of Nolans Batman films?

At first I was surprised to read that but then I remembered that there isn't much dialogue in this movie. Probably going to be an intense 90 minutes of nonstop action.
Maybe Fury Road style but more serious since it's based on a true story from WWII?

It deserves the insults.

It wasn't the best movie ever, but that is some massive hyperbole.

Dark Knight Rises is far from an "awful" movie.

If this is truly only about the evacuation, it is a pretty straightforward event. A 1 hr 47 min runtime seems appropriate.

It's a truly abysmal filmatic abortion.
Batman Begins was great. It's a good movie even when compared to real movies (non-comic book). It transcends the genre.
The Dark Knight was okay until the final 1/3. Then it just became a mess.
Dark Knight Rises was so bad that the originals should be burnt and Nolan should retroactively remove his name from it.

Good. I'm tired of every summer movie having to be 2 1/2 hours or longer.

You people are as annoying as selfy takers in the gym.
But you all are also comedic at the same time, so I don't know if I want you to stop or keep going.

Exactly. They judge this movie differently than they do something like the MCU. All comic book films are inherently silly.

The only big one I can think of is the teleporting Batman.

i think the thing with TDKR is that it needed another 45 minutes to really develop everything properly. Should have split it into 2 movies IMO.
The ending was also weak but whatever i can overlook that
