Give it up, man. You are in a small but vocal minority who for some reason think The Dark Knight Rises is one of the worst comic book movies ever made. It was well-received by audiences and remains one of Nolan's most critically acclaimed films.

I adore Nolan as much as anyone, but TDKR is an abortion of a movie. It's laughably bad, to the point where I was legit laughing during the movie.

Same.

I don't understand the love affair people have with this movie.

Rolltide is a DC and Nolan fanboy, so it's not surprising.

Personally, I think it's just ok, but it gets more hate than it deserves because it was an underwhelming end to the trilogy and underwhelming for Nolan's work as a whole.

Now back to the original topic, I can't wait for this movie. Probably going to actually see it in Imax, which I never do.

I'll be there night #1. Aside from that Dark Knight Rises travesty, Nolan has easily been the best director of the last decade

I've gone crosseyed trying to decide to give you a thumbs up or down. Let's review, shall we?

Since your first statement is so ridiculously retarded and intentionally contentious so you could be goth,

When Nolan makes a bad movie I will call him out on it. So far he has yet to do that in my eyes.

I don't care what you say, The Dark Knight Rises was a critically acclaimed film and made numerous end-of-the-year Top 10 lists. Most of the criticisms of the movie that I have seen on this board are nitpicks.

Every piece of news on this film gets a RollTide post

"Dunkirk Casts Seagull named Buddy" - Thread!
"Water Used in Dunkirk is Real Water!" - Thread!
"Nolan Had Gummy Bear Addiction During Filming of Dunkirk" - Thread!

Edit: Ok, Ok not just RollTide but we have one thread for each Trailer reveal, one for the reveal of the reveal of the trailer in Rogue One, one RT thread on plot structure, prologue, etc.

It's a truly abysmal filmatic abortion.

Batman Begins was great. It's a good movie even when compared to real movies (non-comic book). It transcends the genre.

The Dark Knight was okay until the final 1/3. Then it just became a mess.

Most of Nolan's movies are a bit of a mess. They have great concepts, but usually have giant plot holes, character issues, timing issues, overreliance on melodrama and what not. They are all very well shot though, and they all have really good plot concepts.

TDKR was alright, certainly worse than TDK but it wasn't terrible.

The nolan movie that I liked the least was interstellar

The Scarecrow courtroom scene was filmed like and reminded me of Schumacher Batman. I feel like it was intentional, but it was so very out of place by that point. That and the street fight were way too comical for that film.

Deep down it's a mediocre film at best, and probably bad, but:

1. Nolan bruh
2. Begins and TDK are both quite good in their own way
3. Batman
4. Bale and Hardy
5. The super legit opening - It's the best scene in the film by far (Like SPR, the opening makes the film seem better than it is)

Dark Knight Rises is far from an "awful" movie.

You must have missed the memo that any movie/tv show that isn't very good or great is therefore awful, terrible, worst ever, etc.

It is awful compared to TDK and Begins.

It's quite good compared to Epic Movie and Air Buddies.

It's damn near impossible to not have plot holes with the subject matter of most of his films

Personally I love Nolan and don't take the plot holes too seriously as long as he keeps pumping out original content, something everyone on this board begs for more of

Oh yeah. This is true. Because we can talk about everything at all times with all people, the only way to make something stand out is to be hyperbolic.

"The BEST EVER BATMAN!"
"The WORST EVER BATMAN!"
"The Five BEST RollTide threads involving Christopher Nolan!"
"10 Best secrets to Massive Wealth"
"DUNKIRK TO BE THE SHORTEST FILM SINCE NOLAN'S DEBUT!"

And so forth.
