I drink for fun or to relax. Work is generally neither. Working with a buzz even less so.

People who are the "moral" police will frown upon it, but alcohol has different affects on people.
Me, for example, it doesn't matter how much I drink, as soon as I stop drinking, I get really tired so only on a few occasions have I had drinks at lunch.
A guy I use to work with. He would come into work in the morning. He would be in a good mood, pleasant to deal with, etc.. But the closer it got to lunch time the more on edge he would get. Sometimes he would get borderline mean towards people.
He would always go to lunch alone, but when he came back in from lunch.. Sometimes you could smell it on him. It wasn't strong, but he would be a completely different person than he was before he left for lunch. Then as it got closer to the end of the work day, same thing.. Would get agitated quick, wasn't easy to deal with, etc.
It is not my business, because I don't know how someone's body reacts to alcohol. But drinks at work.. Sometimes it is appropriate depending on the reason why or who you are having lunch with.

Guy who works for Nike has posted before drinking... in fact they have tap handles at work so employees can have a drink.

I think it got replaced by banging heroin at lunch. At least it did for me. Much faster.

Not going to lie, last week it was really hot - low 90s with a lot of humidity. Temperatures got back to normal though. Feels great out today.

You guys drink at lunch because you can't have happy hour?

No doubt not having happy hour sucks. But I'd have lunch beers regardless.
