Why do people listen to music with their headphones in, and try to rap out loud?

Srs question. Are they hoping a record producer is gonna walk up, hear them and sign them? Half the time you can't even understand what they're saying.

Cause with the head phones, nobody else can hear the music. So they have to say the words really loud so other people can hear what they're listening to.

Instead of bitching about it on the internet, how about you say something to them and report back how that goes?

Thank goodness I've never had to deal with this where I live.

They don't want to miss their time to blow.

I've been walking around singing 50 Cent's P.I.M.P. song since I woke, no headphones. Most headphone rappers at least have better taste in music than I do.

It's an alpha thing. I know I can't sing or rap at all. I know you're there and can hear me. I know it makes the situation kinda weird for the whole room. I still do it.....hell, it's the reason I do it.
.....at least that's what I'm assuming is going through their heads. When the nicest thing you own is a pair of beats headphones, you gotta draw attention when you are using them.

I saw this white dude doing this last week downtown and he was really flowing. The problem was he was dropping N bombs all over the place. I don't think he had any idea what was going on around him. Luckily there were no black people close by. The way he was saying it I think he would have gotten his arse kicked if any black person was within earshot

I think you nailed it. It really is trashy, though.

Did this with a Paul Simon album. My crew went ham when I hit "Slip Sliding Away".

Maybe they think they'll explode if the go more than 5 minutes without listening to that shite and somehow letting everyone else know they're doing it.
Sigh.... If only it were true.
