Just like it is a known fact on this board that everything at chain restaurants comes precooked from Sysco and is thrown on in a microwave.
I haven't ever seen them rip open a bag o meat, so I'll grant you that I don't truly know the source.
But I can 100% confirm the microwave. You can see it from the bar and I have watched them put sandwich after sandwich in it.

What years did you work there? What were the names of your managers?

They mention "in house" for their sauces 3 or 4 times on their website, but never once say that about the meat. If the meat was truly made in house, they'd have that plastered everywhere and you know it.
As for the gravy, combining water with a gravy packet technically qualifies as made in house.. So they get away with it there. Kinda like how most restaurants' house made ranch is hidden valley packet.
Darrels still gets plenty business, so I don't know why you care so much.

You should also ask him for his social security number and birth date, you can never be too careful when making a determination as to who has or has not personally handled the construction of a Darrel's Special.

Not that I give a crap but out of curiosity I looked at the yelp pictures of this sandwich and it appears the roast beef may be in house and the rest are cold cuts and regular american cheese.

When I was there this past week I specifically asked what cheese came on it, and was told there are 3 cheeses: American, Swiss, and Provolone.

A few questions?
What (Brand) type of bread?
How many slices of meat?
Mustard?
How long in the microwave?
Sorry folks, I really want this recipe.

I believe you are right, because I'm not getting anywhere at this rate.
I thought someone here truly knew the complete recipe. I will have to make a trip to Lake Charles and dissect it myself.

It's a sandwich. There isn't some secret "recipe". Many have stated what goes on it or you could just read the fricking menu. 3 meats, cheese, gravy, jalapeno mayo.

Does anyone have the recipe for a peanut & jelly sandwich?
