It's built on property that was owned by Robert E. Lee, how long until someone decides that's racist or unjust and starts shouting for a change?

They already have a few times

They will go after the Confederate monument located there. There are also Confederate graves. Don't know about those.

Chattanooga National Cemetery is one of the largest in the nation. I have at least a dozen relatives buried there including the old man.
Let them start protesting there first. We'll show the nation how to handle such shenanigans.
The National Guard Armory is about three blocks away. If they called them out to save the protestors. I'm sure they would rush. They would probably be there within 3-4 hours.

I mean, amongst other reasons, didn't the Union choose that site specifically because it was Lee's? As kind of a deliberate insult against him and the CSA.

Yea I think that's right

That is exactly the reason it was chosen.
Lee's house still sits on the hill overlooking his former front yard.

I thought they took labd from Lee aka wasn't really his choice. I don't know that he would be against it

It'll be tough to convince anything other than the extreme ideologues that digging up graves benefits anyone.

Last summer I partly expected BLM to try interrupting the changing of the guard or some other ceremony. It was as if there was nothing they wouldn't try, not matter how obnoxious. They have seemingly disappeared now. Guess the money dried up post election.

I'm just waiting for them to go after all those on money that owned slaves.
And the pyramids.
And the pyramids.

The Washington Nationals are a major league baseball team but they've never been called the Arlington Nationals. It wouldn't even make sense b/c the stadium is located in DC and not in Virginia.
I've also never heard of a Cemetary.
So I think you meant Arlington National Cemetery.

Dumbasses don't realize it was done by the Union as an insult to Lee.

They basically stole his land via government corruption. The land was initially seized. However they placed a 90 dollar tax on the land. Gave a short time for it to be paid and when Lee's wife tried to have it paid they turned the money down. Then it went to auction and only bidder was the government who severely underbid. Probably because nobody knew it was up for bid. It wasn't decided to become a cemetery until a good while later.

Especially simply because of the past ownership of the land. I think the intellectually honest on both sides can see the difference between a monument to someone and going after literally anything they ever touched.

The media lost a bit of interest too and things are a little less volatile. Judge them for the absolute worst on their sides if you will but I think the wide majority prefer to behave reasonably.
Go on out to events in cities and there are still a lot of people that show up to things.

Well winners get to decide the rules. Lee picked the wrong side, should have remained with the Union.
