Normal looking dude from Metry gets shot and killed by AL state trooper

Weird story. Totally normal looking dude, Jonathan David Victor, driving to Alabama gets in an accident. Witness reports that he exited his car with what looked like a gun. Witness said he could not be sure it was a gun. Trooper opened up with five shots and killed him.
No other details. Anyone know or heard about the story behind this one?
