For your sake and for the sake of all residents in Louisiana. Stay in DC. You bitch and whine about everything anytime someone says something about BR. This dude is looking for advice from people who live and frequent Baton Rouge bars, which you haven't been to in 10 years, and you come in and start shitting on all of them for no real reason. Go back to your safe space.

Tom has to be my favorite autistic, pirate-themed, neo-nazi bar owner
Did you know he also owns a partial stake in the Spanish Moon/

About a year ago I would have suggested Radio Bar to OP. In the past year it's become nearly unbearable. If OP is a white cis male he's going to feel out of place.
It's not that bad. I've gone to a couple free food sundays and I've never felt unwelcome. I usually run into people I know there.

The Cove
I've been there once, and if I never have to go in there again, my life will be just fine.

I actually did a brief stint at Moon years ago. Guest bartended at CBD for about a month between jobs.
I love Radio Bar - none of my friends ever want to go. Or Jones. He despises it. Sigh.

Haha I'm just repeating what I've heard. I don't know the dude from Adam. It was actually people that used to work at the cove who said it. So maybe bitter former employees.
Has anyone heard about the progress on the beer garden on Govt? Seems like all the owners around here have a stake in many places. Owner of Chelsea's is also part owner of Radio Bar and owns Cuban Liquor.

That's another place I forget that has really developed from a claustrophobic Smokey dive bar in it's infancy 10 yrs ago into something bigger and mo pleasanter.
Wide open patio out back and the additional side bar are perfect.

I think it breaks ground next month, but it seems like it's been "coming soon" for 2 years.

Nobody has figured out that there are clean, no-line bathrooms in there. I love it.

There's good reason for that. All of the customers who pay and tip go next door to the Cove. CBD, as a concept, just doesn't really work, so it's always dead. The bartenders for The Cove and CBD are from the same pool, so they're forced to go to CBD where they know they won't get jack in tips. They hate that, and it shows. CBD is also where they stick the barbacks that they're trying to train into bartenders. So, often times, the ones who really suck do so because they're still being trained and don't know wtf they're doing.
