Etling is not good enough to take us to the promised land, hopefully we can run a two qb system with Narcisse just like 2007 with Flynn and Perilloux. So by the time Etling eligibility is up, Narcisse will be experienced and ready to step in right away. Matt Canada has his work cut out for him.

Narcisse is not experienced enough or an accomplished/accurate enough Passer to lead us to the Promised Land.

His knees wont hold up in the SEC either.

At best he's currently running 4th string behind Etling, McMillan and the GOAT.

All bets are off when Brennan arrives. A few will probably transfer or change positions once he gets going in the Fall.

(BTW, the Scott Entourage will be after you for your defamatory statements)

This notion bothers me. I think Etling is good enough to get the team anywhere. He is not going to do it by himself but if everyone around him plays great then I think he can do enough. It's not ideal to be in this situation but it is the situation we are in right now.

Etling gets shite on for 2 games. Bama I agree was bad and he had the opportunity to make plays and he didn't. Bama does that to a lot of qb's and his o line did him no favors. Florida I think he takes too much flack for. He played well enough to win that game. He led a great drive down the field and completed a 4th and long And had a chance to win the game. If Guice runs the right way I think we look at Etling totally different.

You should try playing in traffic. I feel like your efforts would be more appreciated there.

Playing QB in this this league is very difficult. When was the last time any QB was tearing up this league? When was the last time any QB in the SEC ran rough shot over LSU?

Etling has been inconsistent and was at Purdue as well. But, he doesnt lose the game and has shown he can handle the job.

As 1 poster said earlier, he led a late drive against Auburn and Florida, when it counted. Moved us into excellent field position to win the game vs running out of downs early or turning the ball over. He's only started 8 games for LSU and now he's learning a new system with new verbiage, thats hard in just 14 practices. He played the spring game with a make shift OL and LSU has a very good defense and DC.
Theres no reason to think he will not give us an opportunity to win every game this year. We're better off than most in the SEC with him at QB, lets see how it plays out. The Spring game is not a fair assessment. How did Guice do?

The reports that I have read is that he has a cannon that is very inaccurate. I don't know about you, but I'm tired of inaccurate cannons playing quarterback at LSU. Dupre is a great example. He couldn't catch a cold from the inaccurate cannon, and a guy comes in with some similarity of touch on the ball and he actually showed signs that he could catch the ball. If he was trying to catch balls from said inaccurate cannon the last half of the year, I would theorize that he would not have been drafted.

Some people are so jaded from the les Miles era that they actually don't think qbs can improve.

Etling is going to be much better in 2017 and he was already a serviceable qb in 2016. There's no reason to think otherwise now that we'll have an offense from this century.

I've been impressed with Etling's ability to spread the ball.

Arm talent thus far has been suspect. I'm hoping this has been a function of his back issue. We'll know more after he heals up.

I'll trust our new OC to make the best decision at QB until he gives me a reason not to, and no, one spring practice game that just so happened to be on tv isn't reason enough.

The strength of any good SEC team is defense, the LSU QB just needs to be good enough.....not great.
