FYI

NFL Draft Countdown has him as their #1 CB.

I forget what caused the Humphrey hype to us, it was something with Peter king and I remembering thinking it didn't mean much. But everyone ran with it from there

The problem is the Saints need players who can contribute now. Marlon Humphrey, while physically talented, is still raw and will need time to develop. Saints don't have the luxury of picking another SJB and having it blow up in their face. Not with pick #11

No interest in the Saints drafting him.

Yeah that's my point. If the guy you are looking at with #11 would still be there 13-16 picks later, you might want to draft someone else. And I'm not your brah, broseph.

Humphrey is the concensus CB2 with Conley acting up.

Guys this is why you don't put stock in early mock drafts. Now everyone thinks this would be a bad pick. Learn to have some depth fellas.

I don't think it's that simple and depends on who the team has highest on their board and who has fallen and some calculated guesses what the teams between that gap wants to pick.

You can't possibly know that. Every team has a different board, and they didn't get theirs from Mel Kiper Jr.

Well actually many "early" mock drafts originally had humphrey much higher than what the last few weeks notion of marlon humphrey. There's some things scouts don't like on humphrey combined with the rise of conley and King to an extent...

well I don't think its about 1 guy you want, if you want "one guy", then take him, but I think if its the "position" that you are key on, then if there will be a few guys at that position and they are all graded close to the same then you can gamble knowing whoever is still there you will be happy with.

the key is move down if you don't mind picking from a second tier group if the best of the first tier are gone or if whats left is the bottom grade of the first tier group and just fractionally better then the second tier you can pick from at a later spot

If they pick him at 11, I will officially have lost faith in the Saints FO for good. Guy has talent, but is not a very good CB in actual play. I'd rather give 11 up for Butler and his huge contract then pick this kid.

Hell take Eddie Jackson with 11 instead of him and I'd be less disappointed.

If Humphrey is the guy our FO wants at 11, also do not be shocked when a player projected to go top 10 falls to us and we take Humphrey instead. Our FO has shown its strong adherence to its draft board. For instance, just last year when Tunsil fell to our pick and we took Rankins, the guy our FO wanted at 12 from the beginning.

SI has their final mock out today and has Barnett falling to us at #11. Then they have us taking Quincy Wilson at #32. They don't even have Humphrey in the first round. If the Saints like him so much, they might could get him at #32. But I fully expect if Sean actually has fallen in love with him for them to take him at #11 regardless. Just another reach for a kid Sean lusts over.

This Humphrey pick is picking up steam. Walterfootball and Charlie Campbells mock both have him going to us at 11. They have had us mocked with Taco for months now.
