Seems like the Dem underperformed in Cobb based on Hillary's numbers. He's at 41%. Didn't she win the county?

People keep forgetting that gerrymandering exists lol.

People forgetting voting machines were stolen...etc

It is interesting the stories I am reading that candidates that most anchored themselves to Trump did the poorest.

In the Sixth District contest, Karen Handel has entered the “who-would-Donald-Trump-support” sweepstakes with an endorsement from Rayna Casey, who chaired Trump’s presidential campaign in Georgia. From the press release:

“During the 2016 election, I supported President Donald Trump and his promise to shake up Washington and get things done.

“This is the same reason I now endorse Karen Handel, an independent-minded leader with a proven record of getting results. She has a track record of taking on the status quo and the experience needed to deliver for the people of the 6th District.”

So it appears the result tonight, when adding up all gop votes and comparing them to ossof, will be nearly in line with trump's miniscule margin in 2016.

What this could mean is that trump voters are, at the moment, still loyal, while hillary voters are turning out in large numbers as well, unlike in the past few special/midterm cycles.

Sort of.

If you just added up all the R votes and D votes right now, the D's would have roughly a 3500 vote advantage.

I'm not sure how whittling down the choice field to one target and giving Republicans another two months to attack Ossoff will shift things.

Democrats are angry as frick. They are hanging their hopes and dreams on this one shitty little election when republicans own the house, Senate, white house and supreme court. Weird.

What's the deal with no voting updates in almost an hour?

If it's +10 or more republican and Trump only won by 2% then it seems he's not really their sort of republican.

I absolutely love seeing the democrats get so excited time and time again just to fail over and over. Dems you're not going to win Georgia or Texas in my lifetime. LET IT GO!

Ah, $8M, a couple of weeks writing the story in the national media before it even happened, all the breathless excitement earlier in this thread,

and now the bullshite chorus of "it's not that big a deal" begins!

Say what again?

This doesn't really answer the question I posed asking how Handel campaigned with regards to trump.

Bob Gray and Bruce Levell were apparently the ardent Trump candidates. The latter even bringing in Lewendowski to help run his campaign. They both did poorly....But again, I do not know the full context of the dynamics of the candidates, hence why I am asking.

If you are taking the position Handel has been a vocal candidate alligning herself with Trump, then cool.

If I recall properly, she had some ´tough stance, knows what she´s doing´ type campaign, but it didn´t sound like Trump coattail riding.

The counter to this would be that the Dems are forcing Republicans to spend millions to protect seats that used to cost little to protect because they were so safe. Which could mean they can spend less on seats they once thought were gonna be tough to keep but maybe now, not as much since enthusiasm is so high on their side.

How much will it cost to protect seats that are much more contentious already?

Then again i think Trump kinda showed that money is not always the be all, end all. And its April 17 for petes sake

They are. The loony Left is still carrying their butthurt on their sleeves more than 4 months later. They are positively masturbating over the hope of winning a meaningless election. Calling it a referendum even...
