It kind of makes sense now.
They knew the audit would not go in their favor because of the secret meeting. So they were pushing for the tax to be voted in favor of before the audit findings could come out.
What a can of worms this has opened.

I read that as those folks walking out delayed the COA budget approval another 60 days. Right?

Will this end with accountability and repercussions? But hooray for trying. At least it shed some light on the bastards! Shameful.

Yep. I am pretty sure that is an unintended consequence of the walkout. I'm sure they didn't intend to delay things like this.

I thought they were gonna call for a vote to defer until after the audit, but their walking out prevented the vote. I guess I misunderstood.

Honestly, I'm kinda confused about that situation

Wait 60 days and all the crackers will forget about it.

OMA is violated all the fricking time

They (the evil white Republicans) were going to call for a vote to delay for 30 days. The walkout automatically delayed it by 60 days apparently.

The State Legislative Auditor suspects the East Baton Rouge Council on Aging broke state open meetings laws when it met, in secret, to discuss an audit Tuesday.
Well, I mean come on.
Can't exactly have a PUBLIC meeting to discuss getting your stories straight. You wouldn't be very good conspirators if you did that.
