At some point, one would think that the blind followers of Gravy would start to think for themselves. But they don't and won't. And sadly, "they" represent the majority in the city of Baton Rouge.
Gravy knows that a crisis involving racism and injustice is the drug of the masses. You have a large population that isn't highly educated and has been told for decades that white people want to turn them into slaves again. Gary taps into this (he's really just carrying the baton) and uses it to exploit those people for his personal gain, but it's to a point now that Gary is beginning to drink his own koolaid.
The issue is that TCA broke the rules (along with her attorney pal) and she needs to go. It's pretty simple.
The fact that we have to lay out how this has nothing to do with racism, despite the fact that this whole ordeal took place between 2 black parties, just shows you how desperate they are to make this go away.

it should be overlooked because God is on their side. They're having a Bible study/counseling session at a city council meeting. These are the people in charge of the capital city of a state.
Play #1 claim racism.
Play #2 quote the Bible and hide their criminal activities behind it.

That's a hell of a hook
It's the popcorn ball that sells it.

That was my mistake, making the walkout all of the present African-American members
I'm so confused on how this is a racial issue at all.
Wasn't the victims that COA was trying to steal from just as African american as the COA employees themselves? Where does whitey fit in and get the blame for this?

Yep yet it's still whitey's fault.

oh yeah Gary is in this for Gary
he's positioned himself to become THE outlet for news for the black community of BR
he doesn't have to have ALL of the black community supporting him to achieve this goal
this isn't a racial thing. people of all races and classes see these savior figures and support them without realizing they're just pawns. i mean you can flip this around to Trump's populism and it's the same for many white people who supported him. people are fickle and it's sad to watch it as a third party

Big Biscuit (as mikelbr so eloquently put it) says whitey doesn't want black folk in charge of big budgets so they conspired to take out the head of the COA. To believe this, you'd have to ignore the fact that whitey only found out about this when a black woman decided to go to the press because she knew that the black judges in BR wouldn't do shite about it because many of them are connected to the head of the COA.

No idea. I'd like to get blocked so I don't have to see his retarded rants.

In my entire life, I have never seen a single issue in Baton Rouge that so galvanized people against the Democrat/Race Grievance Industry/Professional shake down artists. Many people truly believed the Council on Aging was helping old folks and doing good work and they have now been mugged by reality . I am convinced as a St George opponent that it would now pass easily. For some reason this one thing seems kind of like a last straw moment. frick their racist little club and let them try to survive off of their own production instead of stealing from their more productive neighbors who they then keep slapping in the face.

I've known people that worked for the EBRPCOA, Pimp. It's been a shitshow for years. It just took something like this to bring it all to light.

The fact that TCA mixed her personal finances with the organization raises some serious red flags. I hope the audit captured her repayment details.

I have no doubt there was a scheme going on there as well. Anyone else surprised at the lack of attention Southern Law is getting in this?
Posted on 4/13/17 at 8:58 am to NIH
I've said from the beginning that I think that's a bigger story than TCA.

That's a solid 2nd nomination there...especially since most threads on COA eventually get anchored anyway. But it could be a nominee for the Darth award for the story that dies but keeps coming back.
