Beauty and the Beast Disney Agenda

I'm curious to hear grown up discussion on this. Disney has decided to add a Gay influence in their recent adaptation of the the Beauty and the Beast classic. I was planning on taking my girls to see this, but I'm not for pushing this type of agenda on our children. My views and beliefs are considered outdated these days, but curious to hear others opinions.

I'm not bothered by what I am sure is several seconds of a scene that will in all likelihood be forgotten about.
This same "outrage" came up in How to Train your Dragon 2 and it turned out to be nothing.

You will no doubt be shamed on here as being backwards, but this addition is unnecessary like most of the token gay characters we are beginning to see on commercials and tv. There's no point other than giving a tip of the cap to the "gay community". It serves no purpose to include this stuff in movies targeting children.

Younger children (3-6) that haven't reached the age of reason are really impressionable, don't know the consequences of their actions, and will copy things they see. Or just be completely confused. If your child can reason (generally ages 7 and up), then you can explain what happened and why.
I personally don't care for children's movies pushing specific social agendas but that's where we are in society.

Anyone that has seen the original knows this is not an add.

This movie is a complete cash grab and embarrassment to Disney. It is the exact same movie as the cartoon. Same songs and characters. Just like Jungle Book, they are cashing in on the naivety of this generation's youth.

How about you wait and see if it's really as bad as you think

I think you can go in fairly confident that they have no plans to show any actual sodomy taking place.

I wasn't going to see it anyway, so it's not out of my way not to see it now. I never even saw the cartoon.
It's not about inclusion, though, imo. When you cater to such a small segment of the populace, there is definitely an agenda, and since Hollywood's gay percentage is sky high, I'd say that agenda is just typical outlier self-normalization. Since it's Disnaey, I look forward to their forthcoming pedo normalization.

Two pages and no one has accused you of being a closeted homosexual yet. I'm pleasantly surprised.

Your kids probably wouldn't care unless you made a big deal about it. But I respect your choice to parent how you see best.
My daughter can't wait to see it. She has a friend in school who was adopted by a lesbian couple. It's no big deal to her, and we've never made it one. Just told her sometime 2 women or 2 men love each other. She's 10.

Jesus Christ, what do you think Elsa's song was about: Let It Go
That's jump off the page gay. Disney has always had gay characters, and the one they're just coming out and saying is was always suspected to be among them. I think your daughters can handle LeFou just having a huge man crush on Gaston.
If you've let them watch "The Hunchback of Notre Dame", where the villain's musical number is about him justifying raping and murdering a girl, then they should be able to see this.

I don't doubt that there is a movement among content creators to normalize homosexuality on our screens. You can see it in commercials, TV, movies. It's all pretty obvious. I find it more irritating than offensive, because I seem to encounter gay people on screen more than I actually do in real life.
In this case, the instance seems so short and inconsequential to the plot that I really won't give it much thought or care when I see it.
I'll just remain irritated by the "token" presence of homosexuality in the movie. As I've said many times on this board, "token" diversity is not diversity. When it's not plot-essential, it's just pandering. And that should be irritating to everyone. If you really care about advancing the cause of homosexuality, lobby for a real story about people who are homosexual from Disney. Don't be satisfied by a gay kiss in a throwaway scene, or innuendo. If homosexuality is your cause, then promote it for real. Lefou being "gay" in Beauty in the Beast isn't a win. It's just an odd inclusion. If that makes some people happy, fine. But it seems pretty cheap to me.
TLDR version: If you're going to start a movement, start it for real, or shut the frick up. Either way, I'll be irritated by you, but at least I will respect you. Bother me when Ariel is openly gay, not when Lefou is gay.

Something tells me that if they would have just released the movie without saying "pay attention we put a gay scene in there" most people would never notice it.
If you don't have to explain away the fact that it's essentially a movie about kidnapping and bestiality then I doubt your children will ask about LeFou making goo-goo eyes at Gaston or telling him he loves him when he dies.

Them having a couple guys kiss is not an agenda. It is reality, there are homosexuals all around you and your children.

What are you scared of? There are many gay people in the world. Why do you feel the need to hide that from your children?

As someone else said in another thread, people are not worried about the overly obvious beastiality but gay makes them mad.

I wonder if this is how people acted after integration happened in the 50s?
Having some type of gay influence in any movie shouldn't be taboo at this point. Why does it need to be an agenda? Why not make a positive spin and say that you should be respectful of people's decisions even if you don't agree with them?
