Still, the DUI task force we had in BR all retired together last year and there aren't nearly the checkpoints there used to be.

They didn't all retire, but I believe many left the task force at the same time.

The primary drop in checkpoints was from the retirement of Lt. Cory Reech, you know, the guy who worked 18 hours a day 365 days a year and was making more than the Chief and the Mayor. His two Sergeants were making more than anyone else in city government as well. Oh, and he is collecting a six figure retirement based off of that salary. Good thing he was only working 18 hours a day since he was also running a catering business on the side.

How that never got investigated is beyond me.

But more on point, I don't suspect they will set up a checkpoint on Highland but sitting down the block and watching cars leave Superior won't be a tough task.

Superior has good food, but it is waaaaay overpriced and always packed crowded to the max.

Hearing the owner is more excited about this restaurant than any other he has opened.

This is true. He is psyched and is putting a lot into the finishes.

Im sure the Kenilworth peeps are gonna love the outdoor bands on weekends...

And I doubt the other tenants in the shopping center will be happy with the parking situation. I won't be able to run in and pick something up from Robert's (aka Mathernes) on Friday/Saturday evening once they open up.

Sounds like a perfect business plan to me... I'm always happy to give them my money.

I like Superior, but as a member of Mx Fitness I'm dreading that location. parking is going to be a total shite show.

This is why I like Superior.

I hate the "overprice complainers," but in this case it is legit.

But, I am a marg and chips man like you so it doesnt matter

There are two owners: Phil Barbaree (whose son, Philip, is a freshman on the LSU golf team) and Bobby Kirchoff.

I'll tell him next time I see him, which will probably be at The Box next weekend.

I visited with him today in the parking lot of the new location and they think they'll be open by late July/early August.
