This will eventually happen when you throw all the pitchers in your lineup

It's still early in the year boys. Things will straighten up. I'm not worried. UNO will make some noise this year.

Positives, the ball is jumping off our bats. Top to bottom, this lineup can be dangerous. Also, nice to see Gilbert have a strong start (I would have liked to see him go one more, but I'm sure CPM had him on a pitch count).

Negatives, Reynolds and Norman are supposed to be reliable out of the bullpen and they struggled. Like most said, it's one bad outing in a midweek game. No reason to jump off the cliff just yet.

I don't see most people freakn out, I see a legit concern that has happened in previous games. They put the wrong pitchers in at the wrong times, once Kiel struggled you don't put Straul in the game, that's ridiculous unless of course you want a great shot at losing the game. I think Manerie rides the ledge or edge way too much, will this come back to hurt us no but it's the same stuff with zero learning. Bain or Norman should have been in after Kiel period. Now if y'all can't take constructive criticism for obvious coaching mistakes, which it was and wasn't the first time, then you're the pus freaking out about constructive criticism. GT

Most complaining are doing so because this appears to be a fault of CPM. There's a difference between those random losses (that even great teams have) and those times when it feels like CPM is going to do his plan - "win/loss record be damned!"

Every year, every fricking year, it seems like we're competing for a regional or super regional against a team with a slightly better win/loss record than us. And why do those teams have better records? Because they try to win every game. The selection committee doesn't peruse through a teams entire season; they look at things like recent records, the "big games" and the win/loss record. And it always feels like LSU's record is a few games behind its ability... because of games like last night.

The same thing will happen once sec play starts. We'll drop a few games here and there - that should've been won - and half the Rant will say "this happens to every team," "it's baseball and these things happen," "it is only one game, y'all need to calm down," but at the end of the season we'll be only one or two games behind the team that wins the conference; proving that those games/losses do indeed count and losing them was a legitimate bitch.

Its college baseball... Most teams are lucky to even have a Sunday guy. If we struggle on early weekdays, so be it. You gotta find out who your conference guys are at this point.
