does this really need to be explained to you?

In the overall scheme of things, I doubt it makes a difference if they try to give a gift card or not. As the tread title stated "I was warned", everyone here pretty much knows what you're getting with Jims. The OP had to learn on his own. Even with a giftcard at this point, I doubt that changes his opinion of the business...and it shouldn't.

It's not like Jim's is all bad. If you want it, they are likely to have it. Some of the people there are terrible, Melissa isn't one of them. I've bought guns there and I've walked out frustrated. It is what it is.

it's 2017
fraudulent customer service is no longer acceptable especially in a market as competive as firearms. customers are better informed and have more options than they ever have been before, and will be more so tomorrow. those businesses that want to thrive in that market must do better

Is there really a " Jim" behind the sign saying Jim's ? If so , that person should step up in front of a hourly employee and put this very issue to bed. This is not a Fortune 500 company with many tiers to insulate stick holders or a board appointed CEO

Yet Jim's is still thriving.

I'm not saying its right. OP got screwed over pretty good. But nobody was surprised by this, not even the OP. Jim's is apparently printing money over there, he has no reason to change. At least not yet.

I guess whatever I say at this point, no matter how sincere I am, will be taken the wrong way. I thought I was doing the right thing by coming on here and making a post. I guess I should have never commented.

Offer him store credit or something like that. At the very least ask Jim to call and personally apologize. It's nuts that no one has contacted him yet considering you have his info at the store. I am surprised that you guys pull in as much money as you do without even the smallest bit of common sense as to how to remedy a simple customer service issue.

Will never happen, Jim is too proud and has a dgaf attitude, will be interesting to see how his store fares in the next 4 years, as the last 8 years anybody who hung a shingle and could keep inventory of firearms and ammo could make it. No paranoia about "them" taking guns away will hopefully lead to better customer service in the industry, as I have previously stated he has burnt too many bridges with me and I will just go without versus walking in his store.

all true
if they don't care about the customer why should they care that they being criticized here though. Can't have it both ways...don't come in here and lie about caring (which is what saying you care and still doing nothing is)

I posted a thread here about my ridiculous experience with another local gun shop.
the owner stepped up, took control of the situation from the employee who had the poor customer service skills and did his best to make it right

he contacted me the same day I posted the thread
it's not that complicated
