What is the suggested retail? Can't find that yet.

Benelli makes a fine gun, but the prices have gotten out of control. That's borderline insulting.

Looks like the SuperVinci finally has some competition for the ugliest shotgun currently in production I'll bet they'll be dang solid performers though. May have to pick up one of the cheap used SBEII's that get sold by the folks who think the latest and greatest shotgun will make them a better hunter

Hopefully they beefed up the butt stock recoil pad to last more than 2 fricking years of normal use. My Vinci pad looks like it got chewed by a family of rats and has been that way for several years now.

Hope SBE II's come down now.

Those are MSRPs, they will retail at significantly less. The MAP price will likely be 1699 for black, 1799 for camo

I've been out of the shotgun market a few years, I guess a classic wood stock is a thing of the past?
Or at least, not the norm for duck hunting?

I've got a few classic wood shotguns handed down from my dad. Not exactly what I want to take out into the salty marsh mud environment and use as a push pole or a paddle.

Just bought a SBE II in 2016 and don't really see anything here to push me to upgrade. Never had an issue working the bolt or safety wearing gloves, thought the recoil was already very manageable, easier assembly would be the only perceived upgrade for me.
If I was buying a new shotgun, I'd pick up a SBE II for cheap.

Still plenty of wood stock guns and benelli is included in that, but for duck hunting 90% or more are going to prefer synthetic. Don't want a wood stock near the coast or marsh or similar. Benelli knows this so they don't offer it for the SBE series

I am hoping for a $300 or $400 price drop.

Damn I hope the SBE 2s drop in price. Would love to pick one of those up

I have a SBE with a wood stock. Hunted pretty harsh condition for years and it has never caused a problem.

Yeah I just checked their website and saw they do offer it, I have never seen someone hunt with one, nor seen one in a gun store. Always seen the regular black and camo versions and that's it so color me surprised.

Mine is over 20 years old so I would say wood is plenty durable for a gun stock plus it looks better than plastic.

And that's good, my dove gun is a wood stock 870 wing master that's seen plenty of conditions and been rained on and never had an issue with it either.
Just you are in the minority of wanting a wood stock gun for duck hunting. Synthetic is lighter if you have to carry it some distance to a blind, can take a beating better, and requires less maintenance if you are around corrosive environments like salt water on the coast. I've been around a lot of different duck hunters and the only one that used a wood stock shotgun was me my first year when the only gun I had that would shoot 3 inch shells was my Ruger red label.
