Hymel's

I'm glad this place is still open. We use to go here when I was a kid, 20+ years ago, and always enjoyed the fried seafood.

Nice summary but you left out stopping in plaquemine to get a poboy from fat daddys and picking up a card game at the back of mikes with all the police officers that somehow have lots of cash.

Hymel's is in Convent, on the east side of the river.

You're thinking of the old Lafittes Landing on the west side right by the bridge.

Edit: to answer the OP, go to Sphar's in Cut Off.

Stop at Harry's on 308 in Larose at the foot of the intracoastal bridge. Order the roast beef po-boy. You'll be back to thank me later!

What, no love for Madewood Plantation? It's right across the bayou. You'll be so sick if the traffic lights on LA1, you'll be glad to get on 308.

It's good if you want that home cooked flavor. But it can't touch Popeyes a quarter mile up the road

Chef's in Donaldsonville for fried chicken then hop on 308 and speed. With all the curves, potholes, and no shoulders it's exhilarating to drive it going 70.

And stop at Madewood.
