I wasn't talking about geography, I was talking about your joke. Amazon collects sales tax in Texas.

I can't imagine it would charge you tax, after the fact when it shows $0.00 on the tax line right before you hit "purchase"

It has a line for "Estimated sales tax added"

I am fine with paying the sales tax if we can start getting all of the cool stuff that the do in other parts of the country.

I know that it won't happen but I would love for them to roll out the Treasure Truck.

My brother lives in Seattle and he said that right before Christmas they had a rib roast on the truck. He got a NES Classic in November.

I would not go anywhere near a free rib roast that is handing out gifts around BR.

Paid about $35 in sales tax on Amazon since the first of the year (Wife still redecorating the house post-flood). My shopping habits probably won't change, although I may be more inclined to find third-party sellers and not worry quite as much if an item isn't shipped from Amazon.

No effect at all, I've always paid the sales tax on my internet purchases when I file my state income taxes.

That's not how the Treasure Truck works. It's a deal of the day site on Amazon, only in the Seattle area. You can buy whatever they have and then you go pick it up from the truck. I am sure that if they are selling a food item, that it is packaged appropriately.

Got me for $0.68 so far on a $70ish order that was 3 items. 2 of the 3 had no tax charge.

I just wish I could get away from Terrebonne Parish where the sales tax is 10 and a half percent

Not at all. I like the convenience of having the stuff delivered as opposed to driving around BR.

$3.20 for printer ink. But the convenience is worth it so I'm not complaining.

My online habits won't change at Amazon or elsewhere. I can quickly shop online and have things delivered at the same or less cost (usually) than locally. I don't have to fight Baton Rouge traffic and lose hours doing it. I keep things I want or need in my saved items in my cart and check it a couple of times a day for price drops. I save quite a bit doing this. I also follow deal sites for Amazon coupons and price drops (combined).

The only thing we routinely shop locally for are fresh groceries.

I do agree that Prime isn't as good as it used to be. I still get most of my packages 2 day but I know they've been slacking a lot there. I stream more Prime shows than I do Netflix so I like having Prime Video too.

All my 2017 purchases have been from a third party and fulfilled by Amazon so I haven't been charged tax yet.
