Honestly the show is quite boring. Im not sure how you make office life interesting but wow I can't believe I even watched this far. I do like how it harken s back to a better time like Trump is going to make America, but still it's the same plot line every episode.

literally the whole point of this thread. not even subtle.

It's character driven, not plot driven. It's basically about watching the struggles and development of these characters in a mundane existence.
Some people like it and some don't. It also chronicles an interesting epoch shift in American history and how it affects the characters. Think of Roger going from being a boozy uptight businessman to some groovy dude that does LSD.

You're too simple minded, it's okay.

Mad men was TV porn.
In a good way.
Subtle storylines, great looking women, and a Joie de vivre.

Well, he supports Trump, so that was a given already.

It's a slow burn, but it was terrific.
I always looked forward to grabbing a scotch with the wife and just enjoying a great hour of acting and storytelling.

Yea, it's not a show for liberal progressive hacks.

If you are bored now, you should've stopped a long time ago. It's not for everyone. I personally finished it a couple weeks ago and enjoyed the hell out of it. One of my favorites of all time.

The fact that you felt you needed to put in a B troll makes it look like you don't have confidence in your A troll. Still, each troll on its own is not horrible. I give the tread 6/10.

Joie de vivre.
What does this mean?

I'm the opposite. I don't know when it changed.
Once upon a time all I wanted was a good war/action movie/show. Now I still like those, but unrealistic battle scenes and explosions just make my eyes glaze over.
But I can watch Mad Men and stuff like that for hours on end if it's well done (and MM obviously was).

I forced myself through multiple seasons but just did not enjoy it as much as I thought I would.
I just wish the entire series was like the first episode, it was awesome to see him come up with the ad campaign and actually sell it. They had so many awesome campaigns they could have used, but they decided to be one of the most character driven shows in TV history.
I always think of it as the serious version of The League where the ad agency is the fantasy football league.

1) I did wish they focused more on Don's and Co. actual ad work. They really got away from it in the later seasons and I found that to be aggravating. There were times when I really didn't care about his home life and just wanted to get back to what he was doing at work.
2) but as so many mentioned, it's about the character. Think about it. Don is rich, handsome, fancy arse NYC job and office, hot wife. It's supposed to be everything a man could want. Yet, he's totally miserable. He's a drunk and a cheat and can often be a terrible employ. And he nearly destroys himself.
