Jarvis Landry - how we play football in Louisiana
Jarvis Landry was one of the most special Tigers that I have watched play on a Saturday. In my 50 years as a Tiger Fan, his Fire and HEART on the field was an inspiration. Call him the Beast or call him Hands of Velcro but one thing for sure he was all heart and all Louisiana. Jarvis thanks for making LSU your choice. Hopefully, before I die, I get to see another LSU Tiger play in the purple and gold like he did whether it was special teams or offense, whether he was tackling, blocking, catching or running. Thanks for the way you represent Louisiana on and off the field. Thanks for being an LSU Tiger.

Great read.
Wish some of that Louisiana pride and wanting to rep your state still existed with some of the more recent top LA recruits.

Almost shed a tear.
Jarvis is one of my favorite Tigers. Hope the man gets his first huge contract soon.
Hope more kids feel this way.

I lot of times articles get posted on here because they are a good read. However, that article is a fricking awesome must read for any LSU fan from Louisiana.

He was a special one for sure.
I've always looked for the guy that fits that spirit of the team over the years. For me, it is guys like Kevin Faulk, Josh Reed, Michael Clayton, Peterson, Mathieu, and Jarvis.
Guice has that fire and intensity combined with unreal talent that all those guys had to make him the next great leader for the Tigers

It does for the most part, people focus on the ones we lose instead of the ones we keep
Jarvis is one of my favorite tigers of all time.. absolute beast of a FOOTBALL PLAYER.. whether it was special teams or offense, the dude was a human highlight reel.

Coach Miles turned around, pumped his fist and smiled. Then he did a little jog down the stairs, hustling to meet me at the bottom. I reached out to shake his hand, but he blew right past it and just bear-hugged me. I mean, he swallowed me.
Anybody who’s played for Coach Miles knows the kind of hug I’m talking about — that patented Les Miles hug that was as much a part of being a Tiger as wearing the purple and gold.
Not sure when it will dawn on many how lucky we were to have Miles as our coach for as long as we did.
He kept us competitive, relevant, and CLEAN in the toughest division of all of football for years while trying to battle the most unfortunate circumstance any coach could face, a dynasty in his division built by the man he replaced. And only an unfair Rematch tilted the scales against him and threw him into a hole he could never really dig out of.
Yes things had trended down and it was time for a change, but the way it went down, and specifically the man who pulled the trigger on him isn't qualified to shine Miles' fricking shoes in Tiger Stadium.
I have no idea how all this will play out, but he deserved better than the low level henchman he got to show him the door.
The sooner Alleva is gone, this university and all programs associated with it will be much better off.

They were just a year too late. That is their only sin.

This should be sent out to EVERY Louisiana recruit. Present and Future.

I agree with all said ' bout Landry! Love his talent, love his desire!
His special teams play was absolutely awesome; almost personally destroyed the Aburn kick- off returners & the td catch against Arky may have been the best ever.
Guy same sort of desire is Guice, go look at his highlights as a senior. He took it personal when he was stopped!

Phenomenal article
I played for LSU, not in football, but in tennis and was captain
My parrain played football and was captain as well
My two sisters were also LSU athletes
It means something for be from this state and to play for LSU
I hope that my son will one day follow in our footsteps. Winning championships anywhere else wouldn't mean anything to me.

Didn't know Glenn Dorsey was Landry's cousin. Great read, this guy is a football player. It's about the attributes. It's about what's inside.
