what doesn't kill us... yup. There is fire and maturity in that young man. I wish him all the best. He is the type that just makes you proud he is a Tiger!
I hate the stuff he went through but am so grateful for the folks that sacrificed so that he wasn't sucked in the abyss.

I know terry and through him guice......he is easy to find, as a broke college kid, pumping up the kids from the south any given Sunday.

While people may have thought this. Calling major bullshite that anyone said this to Guice's face. One, he would have beat the shite out of them. Whoever said it would know Guice would get away with it. Two, he was good at football, no one wants to frick with that guy.

Imagine the young men and woman that don't make it out, in all the bigger cities of La., Lake Charles, Lafayette, Shreveport, Monroe, Baton Rouge and especially the entire New Orleans area?? I know one thing if I'm ever able financially, I would set up a place for these kids to get help but have to work for it at the same time. Not a hand out but a help out. These kids deserve that much, nothing like helping someone achieve a dream and help them end the endless circle of doom. There needs to be more people with the benefits helping these young people at the very least showing them a different path. Good for you Guice! GT

As a CHS alum, that article pisses me off so much. Derrius was treated better than any of his classmates, as the administration was sure to handle him with kid gloves despite a constant stream of incidents that would be a death sentence for any other kid. One of the best administrators I had at CHS also left because he disagreed with how differently they treated Derrius over the other students.
Hell, Derrius even pissed off Coach Boudreaux so much he kicked him off the track team.
Derrius has conducted himself like a model citizen since he arrived at LSU, and I admire him for that, but to say he was treated horribly at CHS is bullshite.
