Not exactly a B&B, but Dunleith is wonderful. You'll pay for breakfast in the restaurant, but you won't regret doing so.

We stayed at the EOLA a couple months ago. Nice hotel with a very old feel. It was within walking distance to everything we wanted to do downtown.

We toured the Dunleith and it was definitely a nicer place.

Monmouth is our favorite. We have also stayed at The Briars which is very nice.

Monmouth for me and the missus as well. Dinner at the restaurant was very nice as well. A carriage ride through town was pretty handy too.

I like Riverside. It is a few blocks outside of town, but it is high on the bluffs above the Mississippi. There is a walking/jogging path along the river that goes into town.

Durel is an excellent host. But if you need to be in the middle of everything, this is not the place. It is peaceful and quiet. But it only takes two seconds to be downtown.

Has the Eola reopened? It's one of those places that seems to be constantly in and out of business.

The Eola is open. I called last night looking to make reservations for a quiet weekend getaway in March.

If anyone wants to offer up some things to do in Natchez that would be much appreciated, as well. It will just be my wife and I making the trip so no need to cater to kid-friendly activities.

There's a distillery, a brewery, and a winery just outside of Natchez that you can tour. There are also several history tours to different sites.

There are lots of plantation homes to tour, there's a museum, you can take a carriage ride, go play at the casino, eat at Biscuits & Blues or Pig Out BBQ, there's lots of little shops.

Depends on how bored you get. I hate shopping, so I'll go play instead of shopping.

The EOLA is a great B&B if you want the real Natchez experience.

I recommend The Magnolia Grill (nice view of the river and good seafood) and Roux 61 (great char-grilled oysters) for eating out. Biscuits and Blues is good too.

The Visitors Center is pretty nice and you can arrange tours there.

I could be wrong, but I don't think this is a B&B

Thanks for the recommendations. The Eola is next door to Natchez Brewing and very near to the other restaurants we would like to visit.

Besides food, are there any specifc outdoor trails that stand out? Is the Natchez Trail a must see? Also should we consider making the short drive to Vidalia?

As far as plantation tours, I saw Dunleith recommended a lot. In fact, the Globe Trecker show on WYES went there and it looked beautiful. I think this will be our one plantation tour.

Finally, we are going Saturday to Monday. It doesn't appear so after a quick search but does the town shut down on a Sunday?

If you are going in March, the Spring Pilgrimage might be going on. That's when all of the homes go on tour. It would be worth doing. Natchez Spring Pilgrimage

I went a few years ago and bought tickets to tour 3 homes and a carriage ride and it was around $100 for 2 people. I toured Longwood, Stanton Hall, and Rosalie. By the time I ate breakfast and a late lunch and hit up a few stores downtown, it took up most of our day. It's also nice to walk around the bluff.

I went several years ago, so no idea how it is now, but it really was pitiful back then. I called it the low roller casino.

Dunlieth is the best IMO and stayed at plenty.
