Why has the media and some posters here changed the view of Fournette sitting out? I mean the guy has been battling the high ankle sprain all year. It wasn't likely he was gonna play in the bowl anyways due to his condition.

Because he could have traveled with and supported the team even if he didn't play.

Amateur athletes exerting their power. LSU will appreciate him just the same when he donates 1 million dollars back to the athletic department...ie T. Mathieu.

I agree with Leonard Fournette sitting out.

He is four months away from being a millionaire several times over.

He's going to have a big house, nice cars, and a wife that will be on the same level as Charlotte McKinney.

He probably won't go to Orlando.

He probably won't watch the game on TV, either.

to be truthful, i wish Myles Garrett would sit out as well. Way too much money to potentially throw away. He did his duty with us for 3 years, go make millions kid.

I'd feel the same about Fournette, Kid didnt pull a Clowney, he was legitimately hurt.

Yeah I think the whole situation could have been handled differently. I sort of wanted him to shut it down towards the end of the year and glad he did against aTm but would have been nice if he would have traveled with the team but I dont know those reasons so wont go there.

He should, at the very least, travel and support the team. I've been a huge fan of Buga and think he was robbed by not getting an invite to NYC last year... But i'm not going to lie, this move makes me lose some respect for the guy. You don't quit on your team like that. I don't care if you're in a boot on the sidelines and in sweats, he should be there to support his team.

No issues with him looking forward and trying to get back to 100% for the most important interviews of his life.. I do believe he should've waited to the new year to sign/announce his agent selection so he could've supported his teammates as a tiger.. maybe there is extenuating circumstances that we aren't aware of that he felt warranted this move.. in the end, it matters little as he is and will always be a tiger and I'm grateful he choose to spend his time in Baton Rouge

what part of not being on the sidelines to support your team do you not understand?

May be mis-leading....LF is not sitting out. He is injured and has been for some time.

Whereas MC of Stanford is sitting out....no real reason except selfish imho.

Honestly I'm just ready to move on at this point. LF was a great Tiger and I hope he has a great pro career but it's time to move on.

People are spending so much time talking about the guy who isn't playing, I'm ready to watch the guy who is playing, #5. He's pretty good. This Citrus Bowl could be a great opportunity for him to tear it up on a national stage. Next season with Canada I think he has a legitimate chance to win the Heisman.

The media does this because controversy means clicks and ratings, which means more profits.

Some posters changed their views because complaining is good catharsis. Especially when there's nothing for them to lose.

I don't think anyone has an issue with him sitting out if not 100%.

The signing with an agent and skipping the bowl game as a supporter of his teammates is fair to discuss.

It's not a huge deal. But if you ask me would I rather he be there and waited 10 days to sign with an agent? I would.

I don't think it's that big a deal though.

Idiocy of the highest order, no question.

From the second he said, "the university of..." and temporarily scared the shite out of all of us all the way through his saying he was going pro last week, Leonard has literally said and done all of the right things by LSU.

He's gone to class and will graduate in three years, has worked his arse of physically as well and played through pain on many occasions.

The man has kept to his word and provided for LSU and its fans, but now's the time for him to think of himself first and the next step (and one he's worked for all his life): the NFL. He doesn't owe anybody shite at this point, and those who think he does are delusional, selfish, or both.

Because it should not be HIS decision. He is an LSU football player. He is a member of the LSU football team. The COACH makes these decisions, not the players.
LF7 quit his team and his teammates. He is a disgrace!

Actually, nobody wants him to play, they just want him to be a part of the TEAM and finish with his TEAMmates. This has nothing to do with him playing football. He bailed on his TEAM with weeks left in the season to sign a contract that would have still been there for him after the season
