The door is now open for ALL NFL bound athletes to sit out for their bowl game/playoff game. And....it probably will not stop there, at some point, these self-centered thugs will start to decide that "certain games" during the season are (according to them) NOT IMPORTANT. This will become a source of embarrassment for the NCAA. This is a turning point for college football making it even more like the thug dominated, rap music infected NBA (which by the way has horrible TV ratings compared to NCAA football).

As a parent of a former player for the Tigers, I want to say to Some, not all but to Some, please keep in mind that players, recruits, and parents read these message boards, so to be ripping into players because they didn't play up to your standards is a d $$m Shame.

Let me guess....you support LF7 quitting his team, players, etc.

What a great way to represent our university...

Not a huge deal to me....However, not really the best photo to post as a "leader" of the band. I'm not really surprised since the director's girlfriend posted a nude picture of herself (taken by the director) on Instagram. I saw the photo (from a band member). Most of the band members have seen it as well. Maybe the drum major is simply demonstrating behavior he has witnessed from his director. Sad.

re: Fournette "sitting out"

Why has the media and some posters here changed the view of Fournette sitting out?

Because it should not be HIS decision. He is an LSU football player. He is a member of the LSU football team. The COACH makes these decisions, not the players.
LF7 quit his team and his teammates. He is a disgrace!

I don't understand.

That's because you don't understand LOYALTY.

I would be fine with it

WOW...You have no respect for the college football game. So if you were a U of L fan, you would have no issue with your QB sitting out.
quote:

I wouldn't fault them for not playing

So......you are OK with ALL NFL BOUND PLAYERS NOT PLAYING IN THEIR BOWL/PLAYOFF GAMES?
Yes or no

The only letter I want from Alleva is his letter of resignation.

I agree 100%

Idiots.....according to you geniuses (and Hester), EVERY NFL bound player should not play in their bowl/playoff game(s). Do you agree with this?

I hope the university isn't going to cave to the tree humpers and just try to passively not search for a replacement.

This is exactly what they (F King) are doing. They will probably not break this "bad news" to us until the conclusion of our next football season (telling us instead that the search is ongoing). After next football season, they will announce that it was impossible to find a live tiger from an "approved" vendor....also letting us know that we were able to have an entire football season "without" a tiger (proving to all this "live mascot stuff is unnecessary and foolish). I would not be surprised if Mike VI was intentionally not allowed in Tiger Stadium in an effort to "get everyone used to the idea of NOT having a live mascot."
Sorry......but I don't trust any of these clowns (F King, Alleva, etc). They think we are all stupid and they enjoy playing everyone for fools.

Exactly. Thought this was an LSU vet school/TAF venture.

No....This is an F King/LSU issue (Athletics/TAF will have to pay for it).

If your a real tiger fan

If you are (or you're....not your) a real tiger fan, you will not let the administration get away with incompetence.
If you are (or you're....not your) a real tiger fan, you will call attention to this incompetence as much as it takes to either correct said incompetence and/or make administrative changes.
If you are (or you're....not your) a real tiger fan, you will continue to cheer on our beloved team to victory.
Why can't you understand that it is possible to do both. Do not conflate supporting our team with calling out administrative incompetence.

Not a chance

skip was the best thing that ever happened to LSU Baseball!!! BUT where is all this hero worship for him as an AD coming from ? The man was horrible as an AD, our decline with skip was evident in ever sport, he even missed on his replacement in Baseball SMOKE!!!!!

quote:

The "leaks" came from the LSU BOS and TAF.

TAF.....who do you think really runs TAF? TAF is a fundraising arm of the Athletic Director's office. They (TAF) do WHATEVER the AD says....do you dispute this? Let's say TAF did leak some info, Do you think they would do that without Alleva's knowledge/permission?
Nitwit.
quote:

he hired the last NC winning coaches for the program

Miles = yes, Skip gets the credit
Saban = Nope, Mark Emmert hired Saban

Skip as an AD was a disaster......he ran off Saban, Pokey, Pat Henry (the most successful coach in all of college sports). Skip was jealous of Pat Henry the entire time he was coaching baseball (I'm not saying Skip had a reason to be jealous. Skip was an amazing baseball coach). Pat Henry was getting upgrades to Bernie Moore stadium while Skip was slugging it out (literally) at old Alex Box. Also, Skip disliked "a little" attention being diverted from him toward Pat Henry's success. Sorrry to tell the truth to all of you Skip = Jesus folks....but sometimes the truth hurts.

Which surely pointed to FKings realization that Joke was incompetent

Yes.

Knowing how incompetent Joke Alleva is

This part of your thread is 100% correct.
The REAL reason F. King put a stop to the "Alleva Clown Show" last year was because Alleva's leaking of info to the media was giving LSU a "black eye."
It is that simple!!!!

No, the HC is the person who decides who he hires or fires

Then please explain all of the "talk" from Alleva concerning his "approval" of the new OC.
quote:

Get over it, he is our coach and support him and his staff for the Citrus Bowl at 10:00am.

We are all supporting our tigers, at this game and in the fall. My issue is 100% with Alleva and F King. The hiring process was horrible and it resulted in the hiring of an unproven coach who failed as a head coach (and NOBODY wanted to hire as a head coach). Coach O happens to be a very nice guy. We all hope he succeeds. We all hope he wins a NC. However, based on his resume, we may have hired the wrong coach. Answer this question....if Les was still our coach, how many current coaching hires would have been offered to coach O? Answer = Not a single one. Orgeron would not have ben a contender for Texas, Indiana, Houston, South Florida, and so on. Remember, Orgeron was UNEMPLOYED a couple of years ago.
quote:

If we have any hope of ever competing for sec championships he has to be fired. He can't make the next hire.

I'm with you. Most of the Rant thinks this way as well. We can only hope the upper administration will see the light and tell him to pack his bags. However, I don't have much faith in F. King either. Maybe our Governor can help.......oh no, I forgot, he's a democrat too. Oh well, I guess we are stuck with Alleva.....this sucks.
