Aside from eBay, where returns with individual sellers may be a challenge (as opposed to a legitimate and well-established business), let's list the name of companies who have a solid track record, great pricing, solid return policy and don't charge sales tax.

You are really THIS upset over this?
I mean....most other states pay sales tax to Amazon.

Mrs Cover don't mind when I tax that arse!

I'm not upset. I would rather focus my efforts and attention on finding workaround solutions and helping others in the process.

You can charge your minimal sales tax. I still happen to place a tariff her arse.

Owned by Amazon, right?
Have to assume they fall in line with Amazon's new policy for Louisiana.

No more than half though, right?

I'm glad they are charging taxes now.

You do realize you're supposed to account for sales tax not charged by Amazon when you're filing your taxes correct?
Posted on 12/20/16 at 8:13 am to Will Cover
I just can't imagine that anyone's going to get too upset or stop using Amazon as a result of this. I haven't had to step foot in a Walmart (where I'd have to pay taxes) for four years because of Amazon. My life expectancy has probably been extended due to the reduced threat of having a stroke while standing in line there.

Of course I do and I prefer to self-report at the end of the tax year.
I don't mind accepting this responsibility.

Yall act like Amazon wants to collect sales tax. No company wants to collect sales tax... Louisiana law makers are making Amazon collect sales tax. Hope yall realize that...

I won't stop using them for basic stuff, but I'll shop around harder for big purchases. I saved $140 in sales tax on a lap top I bought last month. Same for TVs in the past.

In recent years, Jeff Bezos of Amazon has been pretty supportive of collection of sales taxes by online retailers and supports that Marketplace Fairness Act.

Wayfair....always a 10% off coupon and cheaper than Amazon on most items. Also, generally always free shipping when you spend $49.00. Even though I have always had Prime, I still have ordered many items through Wayfair.

Yeah, it's not ideal, but I imagine that before long, you wont really have any alternatives.
I'd still pick ordering something at 3pm and having it sitting at my door the next day over traveling to a brick and mortar.
