SSRI/SNRI med question?

I read the thread yesterday about getting off them and it seemed like several people had experience with these drugs.
Long story short... about three months ago, after a terrible experience with Lexapro I started Cymbalta. After a couple of weeks everything was great and I was my normal self again. Last 2 1/2 months have been the same. All the sudden yesterday I woke up feeling kind of weird and now today it's like I'm full on back in anxiety/depressed mode.
Is it normal for these things to just stop working instantly like that or is there any chance it could just be like a couple of days funk? I'm trying not to freak out that I'm going to plunge back into the place I was when I started them but it's hard when those feelings start creeping back in.
Any help?

Have you tried snapping into a Slim Jim?

Any other recent med additions/changes?

Read the Package Insert on Cymbalta. Not that great of if an anti-depressant. If you are drinking alcohol with it, the depression is actually increased.
So, the answer to your question isn't so simple. Anyone who answers in definite terms doesn't have the experience to do so.
Not being a jerk, just trying to help.

Anti depressants can actually cause new or worsening depression. So there's that.

Could need your meds adjusted.

Be very careful with Cymbalta. In fact, get off of it. It's very difficult to withdraw from. It's short half-life combined with the fact that the smallest dose is 20mg means it's incredibly hard to wean yourself off of.
I wonder what your terrible experience was with Lexapro and why your doctor thinks Cymbalta would be different. I have strong feelings about this topic and, while I want to tell you to run away from this shite, I don't want to interfere with your medical care as I don't know you.

Be happy that you have this awareness. These drugs, for certain people, can blunt self-awareness and leave one spellbound.

Dude, call your doctor.

Cymbalta isn't a great antidepressant, I've had better results prescribing Effexor. Remeron is actually the best combination of benefits and minimal side effects in my experience but it does increase appetite a lot.
I'd be interested in hearing about your experience with Lexapro as it's generally considered the "best" of the SSRIs.

Yeah, call your doctor. It could be a number of things but if the anxiety is as serious as you say its not something you care to prolong.
What happened with Lexapro? Normally ive heard thats a real good one but obviously its different with everyone.

Call your physician, now.
Just recently discontinued Lexapro. Didn't believe the benefits to significantly outweigh undesired effects (physical)...helped with depression/anxiety, though.
Recently began, last week, Wellbutrin...too early to tell

Isn't a couple days of funk pretty normal? I mean, are you expecting zero funk?

Unfortunately that's the reality of having depression or anxiety... it's a every day fight. Keep fighting and go see your Dr and explain to him your problem. Good luck

I had to switch back to Effexor from Pristiq because it was too expensive. Edited for too personal info
