You ever helped the cops finger someone for a crime?

Did it make you uncomfortable? Did you worry about your safety?

I heard about a guy that fingered his buddy's dog.

This summer I was visiting a friend at the University of Alabama. We're standing on a patio at an apartment near campus, and this dude just runs straight off the road, rips a speed limit sign out of the ground and sends it flying, rips some other nice looking posts out of the ground. He and his girl get out of the car and look at the front. From over 50 yards away, we hear her scream "OOOO YOU IN TROUBLE".. then they get back in the car and drive off. We called campus police. Sadly for this guy, he drove the most unique car on campus. Black car. Bright red rims. Red stripe down the side. By the time the cop arrived at the scene he told us they had already got him. Police told us he wouldn't have been in any trouble if he didn't run.

I don't associate with the criminal element, so no.

when I was at LSU I worked as a teller at a bank. During the two years I did that, we had three attempted robberies. Interestingly enough, only had to speak to the cops twice about looking at a lineup. The second time my boss got scared because I told her that all the guys looked alike and thought for sure there would somehow be an HR investigation about someone hearing my comments haha.
Funny story about attempted robbery #1. The guy sent a letter through the drive through saying he had a bomb and to send all the money. I just sent the tube right back to him and shut down the drive through so he couldnt send anything.
Robbery #2: Guy was going to originally rob the bank across the street and wrote the robbery note on the back of their deposit slip. He must have got spooked waiting in line so he came over to our bank with the same note. The teller next to me handled it really great and acted like she didn't see the note and calmly told him he would need to go to the bank across the street for this transaction (along with a safe word phrase for pressing the alarm). I pressed the alarm and he was caught not far from the bank. Oddly enough, the cops didnt present a lineup until about 6 months later. Thats the one where I made the comment that scared my manager.

Well yeah. But that's not as catchy as "nah cause I'm not a narc".

A state trooper buddy of mine (was parish then) had a "suspect" that I helped him finger one time.

I witnessed a hit and run when I was walking into work. A car blew through a red light, hit the side of an SUV, then kept going through the intersection. The lady who was driving the SUV asked me to be a witness for her to the police. When the police came I told him what I saw and gave him my contact information. Nothing ever came of it.
