Briles wouldn't hurt recruiting. If anything he might could help it. LSU is starving for an offensive minded philosophy.

People are afraid of what?? A bad public response? Espn and all the networks hate us anyway. Nobody cares about Louisiana, they all think we are trash anyway, which we aren't...

Clueless doesn't begin to describe your stances here. I'm done discussing Briles with you idiots. It's a moot point anyway because, as inept as Alleva may be, he's not an idiot. Neither LSU nor any other P5 will even vaguely consider hiring him. So that's that.

This is exactly what I'm saying. Look, I'm certainly no genius, I have never hired a coach or coached football, but let's look at all the available candidates and their achievements and abilities and go get the one that best fits what we have.

I don't understand the hard-on for this guy. There are way too many good OC options to turn to a guy whos this radioactive.

I mean Riley, Canada, Cumbie, Meachem, Kiffin, Gilbert would all be great hires and I'm sure at least most of them will listen if we're throwing around $2M/yr.

All of that is of course assuming our admin can manage not to step on their own dick for once.

Stephenville-based lawyer Ernest Cannon represented Briles in a contract mediation with Baylor, but no longer represents the fired coach. He says investigators had access to 8 1/2 years’ worth of Briles’ emails and text messages yet found no evidence of mishandling of a sexual assault or anything the coach would be embarrassed about. “Art Briles never covered up a sexual assault, Art Briles never met with a victim. Art Briles never shamed a victim,” Cannon said. All of the university sources we spoke with said they’ve never seen any evidence Briles handled a sexual assault case improperly. And despite a widely reported story, sources told KWTX Briles never failed to show up to meet with a victim who’s suing the school.

There is zero evidence of any wrongdoing but Baylor fired their best coach ever anyway?

LSU undoubtedly will miss on Briles

My prediction is they give it to Ensminger and be complacent

But just remember we had a chance to get Briles. I bet he goes somewhere that isn't afraid to take him and dominates like he did at Baylor

I fully expect this to happen. The SEC would SH*T their pants if we gave him a 2 yr. contract. A Briles/Aranda duo would wreck the SEC, including Alabama. Saban hates the spread. He whines like a little school girl, complaining it's not safe, can't switch out players, etc. But, we'll go with mediocrity, win 8 games and everyone will be happy. It's unfortunate that those of us that want to win are labeled the whiners and bitchers of the board.

He's a shady POS. Peterson warned him about a player, he lied about it and Peterson had to publicly call him out. He doesn't deserved to be on a college campus, in any fashion.

That player came to Baylor after Briles was warned about him and assaulted a woman.

So let's discredit a coach because he tries to help some of these kids improve their life, make better decisions, become productive. Yeah, Miles only recruited "quality" upstanding citizens, as does Saban.....

Go ahead and sleep with the girl who is only rumored to have AIDS, not proven to. Hope it works out for you.

Is it just win no matter how terrible these people are? I mean you're acting like Briles is the only OC to ever run a successful spread offense. Just go get Helfrich if you want that type of offense. I prefer Canda as i think his offense fits LSU's play style, but a more modernized version of it. No matter who why hire, SE included, i would NEVER be upset with LSU for passing on Briles. He doesn't deserve to be back as a coach in any capacity. Would you have wanted joe paterno to coach anywhere after the Sandusky stuff?

Yeah that dude is in jail so i wouldn't say Art did anything to "help" the guy. Stop acting like Briles is some martyr for Baylor just so you could justify him at LSU.

Are you saying Briles is to blame for that players actions? At what point are people responsible for their own actions? He could have tried to help, doesn't mean the kid listens. Do you really not see this?

It's not the same offense. Oregon is spread option, not spread. Also, Briles brought Baylor up from nothing, helfrich toOK a top 15 program and it regressed under his guide.

Briles is far better than Helfrich.

Unfortunately it doesn't seem this administration has any vision. Their Head coaching search was a cluster, the OC search will be a cluster. You are right, there are plenty of names for OC, just like there were for HC. I think Kiffin is a POS, he sleeps around with co-eds, but somehow that's o.k. for some on this board. It appears to be Kiffin or bust. I have never lacked this much enthusiasm for LSU football in my life....well, the 90's....

No. Boise said that was not what happened. No one warned him.

The ncaa is not investigating Briles.....AT ALL. I repeat, he is NOT UNDER NCAA INVESTIGATION.

NOT UNDER NCAA INVESTIGATION.

Stop making stuff up.
