Sorry, been out all day. Did Herman ask for $6 million and Alleva refuse?

sorry, but we weren't going to outbid Texas for Herman...at the end of the day, he coveted that job. It was a no-win situation once Strong flamed out

Herman wanted to hear Texas out, so Joe took his ball and went home. During his pout, he decided to spite Herman by hiring option 998 to be HC for LSU.

Why?

I thought LSU had the stones to be great?

A scenario our "I am the negotiating team" idiot AD was apparently thoroughly clueless about.

Ridiculous of LSU to just bounce out

It's how the game is played

Sure, but stay in the negotiations and drive up the price. Now, our incompetent administration allowed Texas to get Herman at a discount with plenty of money to throw at Aranda. LSU deserves to lose Aranda.

So help the guy who just stiffed your verbal agreement.

After Alleva leaked it before their game, it pissed Herman off so he decided to talk to Texas again. It was done. Alleva shooting his mouth off messed it up.

Unfortunately, O was option #3 for Joe.

It's clear that regardless of the sport, Joe Alleva targets one great expensive coach. If that doesn't work out, he just overpays for a guy who no one else wants.

The fact that O will get 3 million shows that Alleva doesn't have a fricking clue about the market. He's paying 3 million for a guy that would coach for $750k. shite!! I wish Joe was my boss
